Jose Post Match

“We played one of the biggest candidates to win the Champions League."

on Romelu Lukaku: “His moment is not sweet. Not just with the goals he is not scoring. He is not linking well with the team, but he is our striker. We believe in him."

"In the other side there was huge quality. Sometimes people look for Ronaldo or Dybala but in a top team you have to look to Chiellini and Bonucci. I think Juventus is this type of team that when they are in front its very difficult.

"I think our attacking players, things were not coming. But everyone tried, everyone was strong mentally to try until the end. Juventus felt it and they ended the game with an extra central defender to add to the amazing Chiellini and Bonucci.

"It was a really difficult match for us. I thought we could take something but it was not possible."

Jose Mourinho is asked if his Manchester United side gave Juventus too much respect.

He replies: "I don't think so. I tried not to. With the team we played it was to let the boys feel positive and take the positive feeling from our match at Stamford Bridge.

"But Juventus is a different level of quality, I have to be honest. A level of quality, stability, experience, know how. The base of the team they have Bonucci and Chiellini.

"That's the base that allows them to play with the freedom in attack. 'Lose the ball, no problem, we are here'.

"We could deserve a goal for the effort of the boys but it was not possible. I have no complaints with my boys. I have a positive feeling for their effort."

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand speaking on BT Sport: "If you were having to describe this game short and sharp it's men against boys. There was a huge difference between the sides on quality on the ball they were bossed today."

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes: "They look like a side that's been playing together for a while, they were a class above United.

"The sad thing is there looks to be an acceptance of these performances, not just from the fans but the players as well. Juventus look like a team who can go on and win the Champions League."

Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves: "The score makes it look like a narrow game but it wasn't narrow at all, Juventus were by far the superior side tonight. Szczesny didn't have a single save to make, United hit the post but that was it.

Asked if he would change Mourinho, Scholes says: "No I wouldn't. He has a great record, he has been at big clubs, won massive trophies. He did it in the first year. Its been a struggle since then. I think he has the experience to turn it around. In the last few weeks his attitude has been better toward players."

Rio Ferdinand adds: "His experience counts for a lot. His record and what he has achieved counts for a lot. The powers that be, the question for them is can this man turn the fortunes around?

"This game almost becomes a non-event as Juve were so much better. The game against Chelsea, the second half performance says he could turn it. I sit here in hope."

Utd shpuld everything they can to get Allegri. I cant think ofanother manager in world football who would fit Utd better.

Big club experience
Managed big names
Won loads
Plays good football
Solid tactician
Builds teams
Gets the most out of players (Cuadrado is a poverty footballer for example)

Cuadrado one of Colombia's best internationals you mean?

Aye, I never get why people don’t seem to rate Cuadrado, or why he struggled at Chelsea, especially after impressing in both Serie A and the CL for a consistently good Juve. It’s not like he left the PL and has struggled to hold down a place at Palermo or Bari.

Its quite embarrassing for utd. How you have so many pundits but they wont admit he is out of his depth
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A good rule of law that I follow is not to take any notice of pundits who berate managers when they have not had a go at managing themselves.

We fans can have a go at thr manger and pundits shouldnbe free to do so whther theybmanaged or not

Also, someone else mentioned this before, but he doesn't trust the defence and I feel that has made Jose more cautious with this team than needs be. If he frees the attackers we might end up a bit like Liverpool last season where we have a go at teams but lose a few games due to the defence not being up to scratch.

But Jose is a pragmatic coach by nature and that's unlikely to happen until he is 100% happy with his defense.

Liverpool were in a CL final more recently so Scholes Ferdinand Hargreaves make too much out of the game. We could easily have drawn and if anyone just watched the 2nd half they would have thought Juventus were the small team playing for a draw.

Desperately avoiding the real problem by focussing your emotions on another club. How very sad.

So by that logic we should not take notice of any comments made by you then. Only ex managers like David Moyes or Arsene Wenger can have an.opinion worth listening to, unless their opinion is the same as yours?
