How To Solve A Problem Like Romelu

Looking at stats he should be one of the best in the league. Over 100 league goals by 23 is a great achievement. But he looks absolutely useless with us. What has gone wrong?

He is definitely far too big right now, way too much muscle. The guy can't control a ball to save his life. For a big man, he can barely hold up the ball as well.

It's time we drop him imo. Young, Matic and Lukaku all need to be left out of the first team for a while

Disagree
Thought lindelof was personally.

..............

Hard to say Python really. Yes he did play well, but not sure he was our MotM.

We need to be careful when rating Lindelof in that we are not giving him good marks just because he didn't mess anything up.

Some of our posters easily fall into that trap. They did with Groot.

Oh trust me I'm not going over the top with lindelof and would happily pick him up and drive him as far away from the club as possible however credit where it's due I actually thought he played very well last night. Intercepted many dangerous situations last night

Lindelof did have a good game.

It wasn't hard though. Considering when you had a number of players who were unable to control or pass the ball.

Drop the useless oaf. He can't lift his heavy carcass off the ground for a start. Watching him trying to control the football last night on the touchline and then when he finally did get it under control he pinged a 50 yard ball straight to the feet of the juve player was just typical of him. Yes he may well need better service but let's not deflect from the fact his overall play is pathetic. He's cost us in a few games this season

😂

Was at the game last night and this happened on the touchline near where my seats are.

It was so horrifically bad all I could do was laugh (/cry a little inside) haha.

This I agree with. I just wouldn't go as far as excellent.

It was on a par with what I would give Rio for a 6 out of 10 game.

Thought I would pop on to see how many numpties would blame Lukaku for a loss yesterday, and expected to see the same people ignoring how under qualified either rashford or Martial is at this level.

Saw them in the line up. Knew the result. Went out instead.

Honestly, both are so easy to mark out of a game. Particularly Rashford. He is a nothing player.

I am 58 and i can guarantee that I could easily defend against him for the first ten minutes of any match (biology kicking in at about that point). He has nothing about him in terms of footballing intelligence.

Martial is a little better and MAY get improve, but thst is a big "may".

As for Lukaku, he is a nightmare to mark but a team without wingers will always make his work appear wasteful. He's a proper striker/centre forward and there are very few of those about.

The problem being is that the club has not had a genuine, on the field, strategy for nearly a decade now. No point in buying in bits of a jigsaw, manufacture the whole thing in one go.

Don't buy a 30 goal a year striker that needs two wingers and then use your two best (but ageing) wingers as defenders. Don't flank a genuine centre forward with two half wits.

You'll get what you deserve.

I can verify that, especially at attention with a heavy SA80 under your arm!

Brummie

The SA80 isn't heavy and not really under your arm at attention. Other than that spot on.

It is after 20 minutes believe me!

It's held in the palm of your hand with you trying to hold it in place between your upper arm and flank.

I always felt sorry for the poor feckers that had to hold it at the cenotaph for two hours without an order change arms!
