He didn’t regularly batter defenders, though. That’s what’s strange about him. He doesn’t use his size and strength to his advantage. He’s a goal poacher not a target man. Mourinho is trying to use him as a target man (reckon Jose’s told him to put that weight on to give him an even bigger physical advantage) and it’s painfully ineffective.

He doesnt receivce the service so how do you expect him to score goals?

How many attempts on goal has he had in the past 3 games? I cannot think of any!

In one of the recent games it was even mentioned in commentary about pogba screaming at him for not showing

Agree completely.

I keep saying it. Our service isn't the best but Zlatan got way more chances out of this same midfield. Lukaku's movement is embarrassing.

They must have all the data on the player though, the manager won’t drop him which is a damming Indication of what the manager thinks of his other forward players.

We can continue to make do and hope he scores or changes have to be made, for me it's his lack of control of the ball into him and his lack of movement of it that condemn him as not a top level striker?

He has such a negative effect on our attack with his inability to hold onto the ball, movement off the ball, inability to regularly beat a man and reluctance to even challenge defenders for the ball let alone dominating them.

Yeah he’ll score goals if we provide more for him. But the latter are all fundamental flaws that are not made up for by his goal scoring prowess.

That’s true, though I don’t think Lukaku’s being particularly receptive to Mourinho’s instructions. I don’t think Mourinho is telling him not to challenge for the ball, or to do it half arrrrrsed.

Issue here is that Mourinho hasn’t particularly adapted his methods to suit the players. He’s expecting these players to adapt to him and in the main they just don’t seem capable.

This is where recruitment has been a massive problem. Him and Ed don’t seem to be on the same page as so many of his signings haven’t been signings you’d expect him to make.

I am suprised with all that money we wasted on Pogba and Lukaku, why didn't we just try to sign Ronaldo back. Look how much we are paying for Sanchez wages as well.

Lukaku has been terrible this season and has missed quite a few good chances as well. I think he has lost his mobility due to his fitness not being up to scratch and has lost all confidence in finishing. I suppose Zlatan also struggled in that regard.
