Numb just numb

I went to sleep after the game out here in the UAE and was woken by a message saying my son was ok this morning?
Confused i checked on here thinking football trouble, to see the messages and then watch the devastating accident.
Its 5.30 your time and the BBC have just confirmed what we all new that the Chairman was on board.
Only more bad news to come im sure. My thoughts are with all who have been effected by this tragic event.
The irony is not lost that the man who brought the best day in our clubs history and this lose is the worst.
Thoughts and prayers and of course go out the whole LCFC family.

Just heard confirmation that from pitch side when he saw the helicopter was going down Kasper ran towards the crash site. I will never criticize him again he can throw the ball in the net for all i care some things are bigger than football and to run towards danger not away is one of them.

Like you Nev- I got the news from my son quite late yesterday after attending the Hoffenheim game and sharing a drink with neighbours.
It seems confirmed from news here that the Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha sadly is confirmed as a victim alongside others not yet known.
His huge commitment and affection toward Leicester City FC is well known but less well publicised is his personal contributions to many institutions and charities around the area and in all these areas he will be sadly missed.
But in all this the we must firstly think of his immediate family and the massive personal loss and grief they are facing – that puts all other considerations aside.
Of course the people of Leicestershire will also feel a real loss and grief such was his acceptance and adoption within the community. This effectively is the real measure of the man and the outpouring of personal sympathy and deeply felt loss currently shown from all sections of the area will later I hope bring some solace to his friends and family

Good to hear from you JG, even if it is in the worst of circumstances.

I echo every one of your sentiments.

I'm still in shock. Walking away from the ground yesterday, discussing the match, driving home listening to RL and then walking in and seeing the news. Utter shock and horror. What an appalling thing to have happened. I feel so sorry for the family and I can't help but have a sense of personal loss too. We've lost our owner. The man responsible for the best day of my Leicester City life, when I stood on the Kop and watched Wes lift the Premier League trophy. That didn't seem real and this doesn't either.

The only time I saw Vichai up close was outside Stamford Bridge for the last game of that season. He was being mobbed by our fans and he stood there with an enormous smile on his face shaking every last fans hand. And the fans loved him and thanked him and the mutual love and respect was palpable.

That will be my abiding memory of Vichai.
