Scary Players

I don't know if it's because we are on All Hallows' Eve Eve or because of the discussion we had yesterday around Christie, but it got me thinking about how there are a lack of 'scary' players playing for the Old Firm these days.

No, I don't mean ugly players (there are plenty of them), but I mean players whose mere presence on the park strike fear into the hearts of opponents. I don't think either of you have anyone who really does that anymore.

In days gone by there would be a horrible inevitability about what would happen, that your flair players or goal scorers would do something in the game that would kill it. For Rangers, I always knew Boyd would score against us. For Celtic, even recently you've had guys like Dembele who would opponents hold their breath and hope he wouldn't get the goals.

Who have you got now?

Is this symptomatic of declining standards?
