I was really happy for Santi, as he scored a wonder goal for Villarreal against Almeria in the Copa del Rey on Thursday night. Villarreal had actually been 1 - 0 down to the Segunda Division team, when Santi beat two Almeria defenders, and then hit a long-rnage strike into the top corner.
The match ended 3 - 3, but the great part was Santi back to how we all remember him during his time in the Arsenal midfield. Given the fact that he hadn't played competitively for Arsenal since October 2016, I had started to wonder if he'd ever play again, but it's certainly paid off for Villarreal, who took a risk in signing him this season. Santi has now made 12 appearance for Villarreal, and scored twice. Great to see you back Santi!
