away win, Spurs sixth in their first seven away matches, the best away start since 1960-61, when Spurs won their first eight away games. But something not right with the way Spurs are playing. The defending at times horrifies me, and the two full backs, well you know my take on them, both championship players at best. Poch keeps picking them though, so he has to take his share of the blame, also his in game management is getting poorer and poorer. 3-0 up, Spurs should have cruised to a win, instead they were extremely lucky to come away with even a point.
Coming up are Chelsea and Arsenal, and if Poch doesn`t get this defence sorted out before those games, then it will absolutely be two defeats, and probably very heavy ones. Spurs have become in effect flat-track bullies, able to beat the so called poorer sides, but where they used to compete with the better sides, are getting completely outclassed, and after yesterday it is not hard to see why.
Sure Spurs have had three games in six days, but none of the players have played all three games, so no real excuse really. Poch really does need to nail down a proper back four that does not include either Trippier or Davies. Get his central defensive partnership nailed down.
I am still of the belief that Spurs will be very much involved in a title race, and I shall be fully behind the team in every game, but Poch is not filling me with confidence that he knows how to get teams over the line in really big matches. His record since the Juventus defeat last season, has been defeat after defeat in the biggies, United away this season aside.
Poch, can you please, please just get a settled team down to playing as they were, and cut out the half a dozen changes every match, it is absolutely destabilising the side, the defence suffering the most.
The one positive though, is after next week, Spurs will have played twice as many games away (8), as at home (4), and with another four away games this side of Xmas will have a bundle of home games in hand over all our rivals come the Xmas Period.
Rant over. Time for a mind the gap to our friends from up the road.
I am usually very upbeat after an

According to many on here, winning is winning Sandy. Let’s suck our head in the sand and ignore the performance. We’ll only discuss performance after we get tonked by Arsenal or Chelsea in a few weeks time

I don't want to be critical of Poch. I think he's doing a fantastic job when you put it in context.
The fact that so many players came back from being deep in the World Cup, the injury crisis we've suffered, the uncertainty surrounding the new stadium, and worst of all having signed no players in a transfer window the first time in the PL's history. And yet despite all this we've still had the best start we've ever had. To top it off, with all the speculation linking Poch to elsewhere, the guy has spoken about how his heart is at this club and this is where he wants to achieve success. At least that's been the underlying feeling from him.
However displeased we are with the defence we must remember that both Rose and Vert are out injured, and the main alternative to Trippier is a player who has for the most part instilled fear into ourselves more than the opposition. But we're still getting good results, and under normal circumstances we'd be ecstatic with how Poch is handling the situation. After all, he didn't tell Trippier to act like a caant in the box, and if he hadn't we may have got a clean sheet last night.

Foyth played well, but gave away two pens. If Toby/Sanchez did that they would be crucified.
He is a promising young lad but not ready for this level yet.

Yet he still had a very good game.
Probably the first time he’s played back to back intense games like that too.
I’d have no problem with him playing again next Saturday Tbh

Giving away 2 pens is never good, that’s obvious, but the first one was a direct result of quite frankly ludicrous play from a senior player and an ‘international’.

I was happy with Foyth, I thought he had a decent game, penalties aside. Trippier absolutely done him up like a kipper for the first, and the second was a tackle that any newcomer is likely to make. I hope it does not dent his confidence to much. He is a fine player in the making.

It`s a learning curve for Foyth, that was his PL debut remember, and he has shown much promise so far. He was unlucky with the second penalty, but that clown Mike Dean couldnt wait to give them.

Foyth impressed me tbh. Davies and Trippier however have both regressed massively.
