The Joy Of Six

Another relentless performance and back up there where we belong.

Sterling outstanding today, Sergio also showing he can be a team player.

Still got my doubts about Mendy though but it was certainly an improvement on Monday night.

Raheem Sterling's game by numbers vs. Southampton:

68 touches
4 shots
3 chances created
2 take-ons
2 shots on target
2 goals
2 assists

I don’t think the cabbage patch helped mendy in the last game.

Still though not one of his best performances.

I thought Pep's team selection and 'game management' were spot on today with 2 important games coming up in the next 7 days.

Frustrating really cause he gave the ball away a few times, but on the other hand he won it a few times when he had no right to. His ability to manufacture an instant on the spot accurate cross is something else though.

His early crossing is his greatest attribute

Let's also talk about Spanish Dave's goal: absolute beauty.
Hard luck to Phil to have his shot blocked.

Early on it looked like it could have been 10. Nice to show Hughes what a real City team can do, but credit Southampton, they had way more attempts on goal playing away from home than Spurs, a team pushing for CL spot did playing at home. As much as I dislike Hughes at least his team gave it a go.
