I saw somewhere, a former Hearts player called Ozturk, or someone, saying that League One in England is of higher standard than the Scottish Premiership.
It is very difficult to compare the overall standard, as the league dynamics are so different. It is easier to gauge where the current Scottish Premiership teams would place, standards wise, within the English football pyramid. Here are the results of the study (current teams and budget etc. not how they’d do with English money):
1. Hearts – 12th Championship
2. Celtic – 10th EPL
3. Rangers – 13th Championship
4. Kilmarnock – 21st Championship
5. St Johnstone – 5th League one
6. Hibernian – 23rd Championship
7. Aberdeen -15th Championship
8. Livingston – 12th League One
9. Motherwell – 9th League One
10. Hamilton – 15th League One
11. St Mirren – 21st League One
12. Dundee – 1st EPL.

Personally, I would love to see Celtic and Rangers in the EPL. They come as a pair obviously.
Imagine Celtic vs Liverpool where Celtic have the funds to compete. Ditto Rangers vs Chelsea.
Maybe not fair on the rest of the Scottish league though.
