One of the players a lot of our supporters

were clamouring for Spurs to spend big on pre season was Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham. What`s happened to him? Currently part of the worse defence in the Prem, doesn`t seem to have made much of an impact in the Prem, look like he could be heading back down to the Championship again. Big jump up from the Championship to the Premiership, is it worth Spurs putting in a bid in January, or have we dodged an expensive bullet, a young player that found a really good level in the lower division, but he can he do it when he moves up a level? Still plenty of time on his side, but the question is should Spurs risk money on a not be much better than KWP in the long run.

He's a player of the future, with an inflated price tag of now it appears. From what I saw of him last season he's excellent, just not starting in a top 4, or even 10 side ready, if that makes sense?

KWP is a RB so not really relevant even if Sessegnon was a LB, which he really isn't. He's a LW who can play LB

Most modern full backs can play either side. I think KWP has. Aurier did last week at West Ham.

Don you’d be the first moaning that if he goes on to be a top player that we didn’t sign him"

Not really mate. You should know me by now. I'm not into all this signing young talent all the time. What's it got us in terms of silverware? F** all!!! I have been pining for top class signings for yonks now. I'd much rather spend 40/50 mil on a proven top level full back, than pay that for some unproven championship player.

Okay will have to come back to it in 5 years time when he’s a worldie and you want us to throw £100m to buy him

No guarantee he will be a worldie. Done nothing so far this season and not even shown glimpses. Until he starts performing in the Prem, then come back to me.

no guarantee of anything apart from you moaning

My theory on him is he has excellent positioning drifting in, at least at Championship level, that allows him the goalscoring opportunities and record he got from both LB and LW. At PL he has to adapt his game further, given his movement isn’t good enough yet to trouble defences. Past the movement/positioning (which is what got him the goals and put him in the public eye), what strengths does he have, as LB or LW? He’s pacey but not really a dribbler, he’s on the small side and weak. He doesn’t have good crossing technique or shooting technique. He’s not a great defender. Unique ability shown at Champo level to get goals but I have my doubts as an overall player

Bit harsh to say he’s been part of the worst defence, Fulham have chopped and changed their defence more than Raptor changes his name.

The benefits of buying him were that he was homegrown and he has potential, but ultimately even in his favoured or best position of LW, he wouldn’t be starting for us anyway. So even if we’d bought him I’d have liked to seen him loaned back to them.

As it happens, he wasn’t close to being my prime target last summer.

Should have bought him the previous winter and loaned him back for a couple of years.
