Deserved and welcome win last

night, without playing particularly well. Winks had a good game, as did Moura, not sure what Poch was thinking taking him off, Son should have 100 per cent gone first. Sloppy defending from yet another set piece corner, WTF cannot the defence handle simple things as corners. Kept going though, and the win was more than warranted, even if in the long run it will probably only deliver Europa League, but that is certainly better than no European football.

A few players looked short of game time last night, Aurier I thought did OK, at least he was getting past his man, more than ever Trippier does, even if the crossing was not up to match. Needs a decent run in the team now. Crossing from both sides was poor really, other than the one cross for the winner. Harry took his goals well, even though he had done next to nothing all match. Winks and Moura were our stand out players, and Poch needs to have a look at himself taking off one of our best players on the night, Son should have been first of the pitch.

I suppose still in the competition is something, means two wins, not likely, but not totally impossible. But will need to play better than last night, the constant rotation is really showing in the performances. No real cohesion, lots of huffing and puffing, but will need a lot more than that to beat either Inter or Barcelona.

PSV support was awesome, put the Real Madrid and Barcelona support of recent seasons at Wembley to shame. Unfortunately there were a few PSV supporters sitting in the row below were I was sitting, they only lasted a minute, before they showed their hand, and jumped at at the opening goal, cheering. They were promptly thrown out when I complained to the stewards. Sandy the party pooper.

Same team Saturday Poch, other than perhaps Lamela for Son, consistency is the key now.

we had problems last night with the inability of any one to get a decent cross into the box, to service Kane and others, apart from the cross from Davies at the end and one from Winks to Llorente we were woeful, Lamela. Eriksen, Aurier and Trippier not one decent cross into the box, is this bad luck or lack of skill sets its the same with corners too, this needs to improve drastically

Cute that Aurier can beat his man but not much point if he can’t cross for toffee.

Well he can cross, just didn`t do it that well last night. He pushes Spurs so much further up the field, with his ability to beat men. Trippier`s cannot beat a man to save his life, and his first thought is to send the ball backwards.

(Just repeating a comment from another thread)

Probably time to backtrack on Aurier, Sandy, he was absolutely woeful yesterday. I was at the game and his first touch was dreadful, comfortably the worst of our side. There was even a moment in the 1st half where he shepherded the ball out for a goal kick when everyone in the stadium could see it’d be a corner.

I don’t think Trippier is great, and we probably need to buy a new RB, but he’s certainly better than Aurier based on last night’s display.

I was at the game as well mate, and I thought he was pretty decent, caused their full back all sorts of problems with his ability to go past him. His crossing was not the best agreed. But you have to cut him some slack, he has hardly had any game time. He is far superior to Trippier in every way.

I agree Danny, the crossing from both sides was woeful, just needed a bit of composure.

His ability to cross the ball is as bad as Trippiers ability to beat a man, plus twice as many brain farts.

I get you don`t like him Benny, but you would have to be a bit dim to think Trippier is better. Trippier when he came on, was even more woeful with his crossing.

I do want him to start a string of games, although I can’t see him as the long term solution at RB.

Let’s just be honest both are pretty average RBs and both should be moved on to get a superior one with KWP as back up.

Although I don’t think Aurier was particularly bad yesterday prob put in a average performance, did make a couple crucial defensive tackles though especially the one coming across from RB to LB.

Trippier cameo appearance was pathetic but obviously didn’t have much time to get up to speed

I just cannot understand why Poch took Moura off. Was he tired or injured? There had to be some reason. Moura was the only bright spark in the Spurs attack.
Anyone know why?
