Bad news for the lad.
Opens up a few questions:
Will Eddie Nketiah finally get a run out under Emery? Can he make z claim for Welbecks squad place?
Will Emery protect his remaining options by only starting one of Auba and Laca?
Will Reiss Nelson get a recall in January?
And probably the most interesting, will it push us into the January transfer market? A wide player has been longed for, will it happen?
It has scuppered our chances of getting a bit of money for Welbeck in January, and it could well have ended his Arsenal career.
The Welbeck injury...

Its very sad for Welbeck. It maybe the last game he has played for Arsenal.
Good luck to Welbeck in his future career.

Not necessarily. Arsenal have to be careful now how they handle his contract situation. No club will sign him anytime soon, even next summer, until he is fully recovered and back playing. And if Arsenal dump him onto the streets there could be a very nasty backlash against the club. Certainly we will look heartless and cruel because his injury will be seen as the reason we got rid of him.

There's nothing to be heartless or cruel about. Not a single major club will offer Welbeck the kind of wages he was earning until he proves his fitness.
For literally a decade we were a soft touch on players contracts. Nothing wrong with the club growing a backbone finally.

Why would Arsenal look heartless? Players are rightly awarded multi-million pound contracts when they perform. Injuries and short career spans are factored into the wages.
Fans were happy for Wilshere to go. He had far stronger affinity with the fans.

What maybe a repercussion is that Ramsey may refuse to play. I have already noticed how he is not fully committed on the pitch at the moment. This is an unfortunate result of players running down their contracts. Players on the contract bubble are an injury away from disaster but have to show their ability to attract the interest from other clubs. The biggest clubs can only justify those silly asking wages if the player is in the spotlight.

Let's see how the club handles it, none of us knows the club's thinking at this stage. But I can't see them dumping him onto the streets. Just saying.

Obviously Welbeck is an Arsenal player till next summer. So the club have a duty of care till his contract runs out. Diaby had a similar injury and I think Welbz should be ok by next summer ready to train with his next club. I really don't think we owe any more. Welbeck is a manc and may wish to recover near his home. Welbeck is a multimillionaire and I don't think we should treat him like he is a 16 year old trainee whose life has ended.

That's your view. As I said, none of us knows what the club is thinking about the situation so I suggest let's wait and see instead of engaging in uninformed arguments.
