Stoke will be without Tom Ince tomorrow, he is undergoing a hernia op; Gary doesn't want Tom trying to play through the pain barrier at only 80% fitness? not too much chance of that I would have thought!
After a lethargic start to the season the Potters are starting to find some form. With Ince sidelined and Benik Afobe's place in the starting lineup under threat after a run of 7 games without a goal [ he last scored in their 3-2 loss against us in the EFL Cup] Peter Crouch, Bojan and James McClean and fit-again Sam Clucas and Mame Diouf are vying for starts.
James McClean is getting involved in off field issues that may well mean that he isn't fully focussed on what he's paid to do, play football.
I've just watched Gary Rowett's prematch press conference, or rather the first 60 seconds, he's in a boxing gym, in front of the ring, lot's of background noise and echo, can't hear a word the interviewer is saying....none out of ten Gary.
This isn't a glamour tie by any means imo and represents a test of the managers ability to motivate his team for a 'bread & butter' game.
Stoke are just 5 points behind the Reds in the table winning 5 games so far.
A win against Stoke will set Forest up nicely. Hull, Aston Villa, Ipswich and Preston then follow the break, a run of games to maximise our points haul and establish a credible top six challenge.

If Leeds brom draw, it is a good week to draw.
In years past we would have definitely conceded, possibly been rolled over. Stoke put in a very good ‘hoof it t’ biggun’ performance, our supposed weakness and limited then to two chances. Likewise, be it for an England keeper Grabban or lolley could have put us ahead. We can’t win every game but we have atleast been at it. Some solid progress.
Are we.....
Are we consistent? 🤔

Decent game in the end, Grabban should have put one of those chances away and Lolley was denied by a wonder save.
Disappointing not to score at home (first time this season!), but strangely no sheep on here gloating about it...

Don't worry though. I checked and our game is being called boring.
A boring 0-0 with a few wonder saves vs a 3-0 Home embarrassment.
Apparently a missing Mount is the reason. Someone for us to target when we play them.
I barely watched the first half and only caught the second half later on. It's been a big week.
I met Bill Murray on Friday night and won a couple of hundred last night. Not a bad week.
Leeds got hammered, which pushes us out to sixth, but, we have a good chance to pick up the points after the break with an easier run (on paper). One point of the play-offs and four off Auto's. Happy with that!

Missed some chances yesterday but another point keeps the momentum going. Don’t get the feeling Forest are going to lose many this season but will they win enough to stay top six?

Villa beat us because they were far better than we were in the second half. The first half was even Stevens. They were quicker and stronger and well organised.
When you say you will "target Mount". do you mean you will revert to your clogging style. I don't think Kranky will go down that route.

So overall, they were largely better than you. Kind of what the scoreline suggested then.
Targeting Mount means he seems to be your key player, based on the general consensus that you lost because of his absence.
How to target him? Close him down early, not allowing him space to play and yes, potentially a kick up the rs every now and again.
Crippling him for life and ruining his career is probably a tad harsh.

MorninChile, you will see that is exactly what I said. But, whatever you or I think, things will very soon be put to the test. Next month you will be at PP. And - when do you play Villa? Er...... didn't you lose to lowly Burton Albion recently?

Both Bolton & Rotherham out thought your rooki manager and the table doesn't lie Ramdini!
