I know that there has been talk on here about stats before and in particular passing and possession stats. I think it is generally accepted that the possession stat is directly related to control of the game but is it that simple?
Firstly, let me say that I did not see the game yesterday and was only able to listen to the Wolves TV commentary and view the highlights on MOD2. Nevertheless, it seemed clear to me that the possession figure of 72% in favour of Arsenal does not tell the whole story. In fact I would say that yesterday's game was a classic example of how Arsenal controlled the ball but Wolves in large parts, controlled the game.
Possession stats, what do they mean?

Soft yellow card for Neves. At least he will be back early with Jimenez so both will be well rested for the Hudders game.

I see Jota scored for Portugal U21, An almost perfect carbon copy of the one he didn't score against Arsenal.

I think we need to stick with Jota at least until we bring someone else in January. He has more goals in him than Costa, Cavaleiro and Traore put together if we can just get him going

Yeah he is definitely the most dangerous of the 4 when he's on form. Right now though Costa and Traore are the ones terrorizing defenses and Cavaleiro the one finding the back of the net.
We are so close to having the best attack outside the top 6, if they all hit form at the same time we could give someone a real hammering.

Maybe the next game at home to Huddersfield will be when we knock in 3 or 4. If we get the first goal it could well be. If they get the first goal it will be a difficult game

Has anyone ever explained to Raheem Sterling that you are supposed to try to beat the keeper, not pass it to him? What W<anchor> he is!

A tap in for Lingard and a classic Harry Kane goal from a free kick is good enough to get England through. Rode their luck but it's goals that count and the scoreboard says 2-1.

Can’t knock what Southgate has achieved. Got a good young team that work well together
Dendoncker on the bench for Belgium tonight
