Susanna Dinnage has been named as the new chief executive of the Premier League, replacing Richard Scudamore.
Dinnage joins from media organisation Discovery, where she was the global president of the Animal Planet channel.
Prior to joining Discovery in January 2009, Susanna held a series of senior roles spanning over 10 years at Channel Five where she worked on the launch of the channel and its digital extensions.
Susanna started her career at MTV Networks where she specialized in audience insight and worked on the launch of a number of MTV and VH1 channels. She is on the board of All3media, the Discovery and Liberty Global joint owned group of 26 production and distribution companies, Chair of the Commercial Broadcasters Association (COBA) and an executive member of the Discovery Women’s Network.

just goes to show how much the PL cares about TV revenue, hire a TV exec to run the league rather than a footballing person.
why didnt Ed throw his hat in the rang and leave us alone.

When the Glazers were flogging a tranche of shares, the prospectus framed Manchester United as an opportunity to invest in a fast growing media business. I guess that's the model for football: our clubs are content producers. And the Premier League is a content channel. So they hire a media person to run it. It's as logical as it's depressing.
