Memphis..

I know this kind of article is made everytime he has a good game but apparently he tore France apart and he scored a Pirlo type penalty, chipped down middle. He seems to be full of confidence.

Would playing a front 3 that's interchangeable (similar to Liverpool) be a bad idea?

Martial-- Memphis-- New RW

35 million buy back clause? That's not much in this day and age.

And if he went elsewhere and played really well we’d look even more stupid for not bringing him back for fear of looking stupid.

Missing the point. It would be the second time we’ve sold or given someone away for peanuts then spent a fortune in bringing them back. It just makes us look daft. And even in passing up the opportunity to buy back yet another one we’d let go, who’s playing well, who’s to say he’ll actually play well here? Under this management? Seems to kill good players.

There’s no argument you can give me that won’t make me think we are inept if we buy him back. If he is that good, what we we doing to stifle him so much?

Do you think Chelsea fans would be worried about looking silly if they were to buy De Bruyne or Salah back?
Do you think City would look silly if they bought Sancho back?
Who gives a feck. If he came good for us then fair play. He was awful for us and his attitude stunk first time. Players can change you know

Yeah, but they don’t do it twice in succession. I love that you want to defend the club for this, but let’s face it in pogba and depay’s cases, if they were that good then we shouldn’t look like idiots letting them go them buying back at astronomical cost. If nothing else it’s totally wasteful.

Hell no. What I care about is having a club that can make astute decisions, and not think everything is solved by money. No one seems concerned that the fact we are even hypothetically talking about Beijing an ex player we let go only a year or two later, (for the second time) points to something badly wrong with the leadership st the club.

Pretty much every club has got rid of players that have gone on to do better at other clubs. Hardly something that happens all the time with us. It would be more of a regret if we turned down the option and he became done world beater
Btw I'm not advocating us buying him. I am not overly fussed either way. We are well stocked on the left anyway

Fair enough python.

But you still haven’t addrsssed whether you think the fact that we bought pogba (at something like a 3000% markup), and are hypothetically are looking at depay, both ex players, points to something wrong in the club. Do we not recognise talent? Do we stifle it? What’s your thoughts?

Pogba wanted first team football which Fergie couldn't give him. Don't think Fergie liked his attititude.
Yes i don't think Jose can spot talent which is the major reason i want rid. Don't think personally though we are different to many other clubs who have got rid of very good players.

Pogba and Depay are two separate issues. But it’s patently obvious we’ve had problems developing talent the last few years. You don’t need us to buy Depay back for that to be apparent.

After the success of #pogback, we could sign Memphis and market it as #depayitagain
