Albania 0 v 4 Scotland

Well that was very satisfying on Saturday night.

Listen, the opposition is of course a factor in the comfortable win, add in a dodgy ref in our favour and even Scotland couldn’t lose on Saturday.

Nonetheless, there were a few fabulous performances and the team in general played rather well.

I thought Christie was MOTM for me, just gets better and better with every game, he has the first touch of an angel and it allows him to spray balls about for fun before he’s closed down.

Fraser, Forrest and McGregor weren’t far behind him though, all 3 had terrific performances. Forrest’s 2nd goal was absolutely outstanding.

The back 4 all played reasonably well but they weren’t tested too much and tomorrow nights game will be a much tougher test. I don’t think I’ll ever be keen on McKenna or Bates as the two of them look like Sunday league players with the ball at their feet, however they can at least defend and do the basics right.

A lot of criticism of McLeish lately and the amount of call offs is a worrying trend but a win tomorrow night and another performance like that and he deserves some breathing space.

So if we win the C section of the nations league we don't qualify for the Euros? But we go into B section where we have no chance of winning a group and qualifying through that? But it will give us an easier qualifying group in the actual qualifiers? Is that the main benefit of winning it?

Thought the team played well. The longer the game went on, the better Christie became. Fletcher put a shift in up front and at least gave a focal point. Forrest took his 2 goals well-especially the second one. Looked as if he was carrying a wee knock at the end of the game.

Said after the game, I’m not a McLeish fan by any manner of means but was happy for him with the result. He seemed a bit emotional after it.

Right now we have a chance of qualifying if we beat Israel. We go to the Nations League finals to play a play off against the other Group C winners C2 Finland, C3 Norway/Bulgaria, C4 Serbia/Romania

If we beat Israel we get promoted to Division B even if we don't make the Euros by way of the play offs. That would mean facing teams like Germany, Wales, Austria, Sweden, Czech Rep, Croatia, Poland, Iceland

Ironically had we been relegated to Division D the next Nations League would see us very strong favourites to get a Euros slot as we'd be up against the worst in Europe (though we'd be classed amongst them)

Hmm they are saying on the England article that England don't qualify for the Euros if they win the nations league? Why would they not get a qualifying place if the winners of the other sections do?

I enjoyed the game

Don't think I've ever watched a Scotland game in which the ref is doing us all sorts of favours

That penalty decision was a disgrace.

Forrest and Christie were excellent

Frazer and Robbo are our best players. Tierney is a good player but is not tested against top players.

The cbs are very slow. How can an average over the hill Fletcher still be our striker.

Didn't watch the game as I had booked tickets for the cinema to see Crimes of Grindelwald (superb BTW)

I checked the core when I popped to the toilet and was pleasantly surprised to see us 2-0 up. I got the last 5 minutes on the radio.

Watched the highlights yesterday and it was a good performance despite being against a very poor opponent. Nobody in that Albania team looks good whatsoever.

As for the movie it was superb. The CGI was excellent. You could tell it was being set up for 2 movies early on when the actual story didn't move on quickly and spent more time character developing. It left a bit of a cliffhanger/ question over is he, isn't he at the end.

If you are a Harry Potter fan like me then you'd be spending the drive home trying to remember the different family ancestral lines to work out how possible the ending is

Watched it this morning.

Noticed on the internet after watching it that loads of Harry Potter fans are raging about the retro-fitting at the end.

As a Star Wars fan, they've got nothing on midichlorians
