Wolves have injury problems going into next weekends game against Huddersfield at Molineux.
Matt Doherty missed Ireland’s games this week with a facial injury and may not be available this weekend. Jonny picked up a knee ligament injury playing for Spain and is definitely out. He is having scans to discover the extent of the injury.
Looks like an opportunity on the left for Vinagre although Ryan Giles impressed in pre season in that position.
On the right it might see Cavaliero or Traore moved to that position. Would Dendoncker be able to fill the role? Or maybe a chance for Oskar Buur who has had occasional chances.
Either way a bit of a blow going into games against Huddersfield and Cardiff when we hope to get a few points on the board.
Who plays wing back against Huddersfield?

Indeed, Barry Douglas was a fantastic servant to the club and it was harsh at the time to move him on, but if anybody thinks Jonny isn’t a major improvement then you must need corrective eye surgery!

Yes he had a great left foot, but would have been ‘ripped a new one’ in the prem. I expect it was really difficult to be rejected for the lad. On a plus note it shows that Nuno will make the changes necessary regardless of feelings. Tuff decisions hurt, but we move on !

Not doubting Jonny is first choice Gem and I guess every player has a dip in form, but in a way I'm glad Vinagre will have a chance to prove he's a worthy replacement, if selected. The lad certainly has talent.

I reckon it might be Saiss. Particularly if the rumours of a new centre back coming in January are true.

I wouldn't sell Bonatini until we have bought in another striker, but we surely will do that in January.
Saiss meanwhile covers the same positions as Dendoncker so is probably someone we could afford to offload. Gibbs White has also overtaken him in the pecking order in midfield now, and Hause may well be selected ahead of him in defence

When thinking of the options if Doherty didn't make Saturday I forgot the man who has been playing in that position for the U23s in recent games. Could Iorfa yet rescue his Wolves career?

Although Iorfa was one of the original registered squad players and lots of us think he has the ability to become a top class wing back, it seems that Nuno does not share our enthusiasm. Obviously Nuno has been close up and personal with the player and has seen something he doesn't like hence sending him out on loan.
I would be surprised if we see Iorfa in a Wolves shirt again.

I would be surprised too. But if Doherty missed Sunday I think he is one of the better options
