Saw the England game yesterday and once again it was a fabulous performance from young Joe, him and Stones looks to have the potential to be a good partnership for England.
Great to see him having the confidence to step out of defence so regularly the ball and pick out passes as well, he picked out some peaches yesterday. He is a fantastic passer of the ball and he has a lot of similarites to a young Rio Ferdinand imo.
Got to say I am astounded by how good he has been this season, this time last year I was doubting whether he would ever make it here but he looks a top centre half in the making. Obviously VVD has helped his development but the majority of credit has to go to Joe for his hard work, he has taken unbelievable steps in in the last 6 months.
Being honest, did people ever expect him to reach such a level so soon?
I just pray he can stay fit because it seems only injuries can hinder his development now. Exciting for Liverpool, and England.

Fantastic young player, his acid test will come when he plays without VvD being there. That should show his true value.

BTW for me playing with an achilles injury as well. Gomez will probably be crocked by may.
Klopp couldn't convince player nor england manager to do the decent thing.

I did expect him to become a great centre back, I was one of a few wanting to start with him there at the beginning of the season. He did great at left back before his injury and did a job at right back but he doesn't have the attacking threat. He is at home in the centre where is extremely quick for a centre back. His strength is a huge asset as well and of course his calmness on the ball.

Before and after his nasty injury he was being judged when playing as a full back.
As many of us new, he's a CB... and he is flourishing. Liverpool and England have a gem of a player. Hopefully he will cope with the attention he is going to get over the next few years.

Nothing surprises me its funny how the majority of you were criticising him when he was playing RB last season at times which is not his position and had to learn from his mistakes. And then the majority of you were saying not good enough yet we need another cb. I've seen him at Charlton he has all the tools and is proved right now in his position along Van Dijk. Will only get better an quality defender.
