Black Friday Deals

The term originated in Philadelphia where the Police are credited with coining the phrase to describe the mayhem that takes place on the discount day after Thanksgiving

It also apparently gives meaning to the day that retailers all post profits and as such go from the Red into the Black

Enough of that history shizzle...

Ted Baker has 30% off everything just now - really good sale.

Debenhams has the 20 - 30 % off stuff - great for kids clothes and some toys have decent discounts.

The White Company has 20% off most things - classy smelly stuff for the better half, will get you in the good books.

Happy Shopping

Volunteer Arms in Fort William.

£1.99 cracking pint of Tennents.

Mind you it's that price on the other 364 days as well.

£2.05 for any real ale in The Counting House in Dundee! Although I've not checked if it's that cheap today, just the rest of the year it is.

£2.50 for pint of Caledonian brewery beer of the month in Diggers in Edinburgh. Hundreds of good whiskies £2.50.

Fantastic deals on black friday and other days

The Diggers is my hame fae hame when I'm thru there.

Met an old mate for a pint in Babbity Bowsers last week.

It's his haunt - he's welcome shoving 6 quid a pint.

Amazon is great for buying toys for the kiddies today so I've spent a few quid there.

Nothing else has stood out really

Anything with a fancy name is going to be expensive. The Diggers and The Golden Rule are where it's at.

I've ordered a Playstation VR bundle from Argos (it hasnt been cheaper throughout the year or at any time previous etc) which im picking up tomorrow. Headset, camera, 3 games and the move controllers for £230. If I find something better between now and Christmas then easy to swap. Anyone have/played one themselves and worth it or does the novelty wear off?

My kids are 10 and 8 so it's at the point where even they are struggling to think of things. Too young to just be given cash and too old for most toys so PS VR is where I'm currently at.

I was looking at the Switch but it's still as expensive as it was 18 months ago and the same games on the PS4 are miles cheaper. I keep hoping they'll do a bundle at a non-extortionate price but that's Nintendo for you. Probably why aside from the original Gameboy I've never owned anything else by them.
