Leeds Utd v Bristol City Matchday Thread

Right lets get this Season back on track Bristol will be fancying their chances against a depleted Leeds Squad but I can see any of the young lads who are given a run out fitting in quite well due to Bielsa Ball being played at all levels of the club , in Marcelo we Trust

Venue ...Elland Road...Date...24th November...Kick Off ...15:00hrs

Team News
Leeds United
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa could hand a first-team debut to either Will Huffer or Kamil Miazek in the home game against Bristol City.
Bielsa is facing a goalkeeper crisis with first choice Bailey Peacock-Farrell struggling to overcome a knee injury and Jamal Blackman returning to parent club Chelsea after breaking his leg. Centre-half Pontus Jansson is also expected to be ruled out due to a foot injury, so Kalvin Phillips may switch from midfield to partner Liam Cooper at the heart of defence.
Gaetano Berardi (hamstring), Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford (both knee) remain long-term absentees, while midfielder Izzy Brown is still working his way back from injury.

Bristol City
Bristol City pair Mo Eisa and Hakeeb Adelakun could both return to contention after long-term injury. Forward Eisa has been sidelined since the end of August due to an ankle injury and a similar problem has prevented Adelakun from making his City debut following his summer switch from Scunthorpe.
Captain Bailey Wright is closing in on his first appearance of the season after returning to action with the under-23s this week. The Australia defender had surgery in the summer to resolve a long-standing thigh problem.

Match Facts
Leeds have lost just two of their 24 league games against Bristol City in the second tier (W17 D5), with those two defeats separated by over 90 years (0-1 in both 1921 and 2016).
Bristol City last beat Leeds at Elland Road in league competition in November 1979, going winless in their six such trips since (D1 L5).
Leeds have suffered just one defeat in their last 12 home games in the Championship (W7 D4), with that coming against Birmingham in September (1-2).
Bristol City have lost each of their last three games in the Championship - they haven't lost four in a row since January 2017 (a run of eight consecutive defeats).
Mateusz Klich has been directly involved in more goals than any other Leeds player in the Championship this term (10 - five goals and five assists), with each of those 10 goals coming from open play.
Bristol City striker Andreas Weimann has scored four of his five goals in the Championship this season away from home. Indeed, only three players have netted more away goals in the competition this term - Neal Maupay (6), Lewis Grabban and Frazier Campbell (both five).

So there we have it, I'm fully expecting Leeds to go out and prove the truth in the old adage "Attack is the best form of defence" with that in mind i'm going for a trifle optimistic 3-1 win with Roofey getting two and Alioski getting the other

(Prutton predicts 2-1 )

Kick on on Tuesday, good result today, Bristol City no mugs, they are much lower in the league than they should be.

Yes, agree. Have of course to keep in mind, the injuries, and two debutants.
But you all know, that when the game is on, one gets carried away, and it's easy to forget those things mentioned here.

Kalvin MOTM for me.

Take away the 2 debutants, 1 is a centre back and 1 is goal and should be fairly quiet at ER. The rest of the side was our strongest and we made hard work of it according to Sky. We wont go up is what they said about our performance today. Huffer made double the amount of passes Roofe did, not exactly great at home.

Dallas in at RB is our strongest to you? Phillips at CB alongside a debutant?

Doesn't matter where the positions are. Probably still affects the other players, who will be wanting to keep the pressure off those two.

Sky don't you just love em. We have played better granted but to base their assessment on one game is just idiotic.
Thought some of our players were not having their best games but we strolled it. Bristol City had one shot on target (which I cannot remember).

Yes, that one shot on target was what prompted Lee Johnson to state “We were the side who looked like going on to win the game at that point.”

Yeah, right on Lee!

Did he talk about the extensive weaknesses that he was looking to exploit?

Err, Cooper?

"People on here are moaning because we only won a league match 2-0 involving 2 DEBUTANTS.

Place is a joke

As I said, in Bielsa we trust "
