Exactly what Rosso said, currently you will hire whoever your board thinks gives you the best chance of top four and essentially instant results.

Let’s be honest, if you take LVG, you came as close to top four as you can get (having gotten it in his first season), you won the FA Cup and you had youngsters coming through who were developing the foundation of attacking football (which is keeping possession) and even that wasn’t enough for even one more season. As soon as that precedent is set, so are the minimum objectives your current board will tolerate.

I’m not saying he should still be in charge btw, one more season though and then handing over to someone that would take that possession football and add attacking transition and you’d be miles ahead of where you are now.

I don’t think you’ll make a change for the same reason until top four is statistically unachievable either. Mourinho does have a habit of being able to go OJ a run or win a big game that will convince some that it’s stulk possible that he could still be the right answer. They’re not looking at the bigger picture though - the foundations aren’t right to begin with and changing manager isn’t the only thing you need.

Yeah you’re still an attractive purchase SE because your overall value is still going up. Take us, Id be very surprise if we aren’t fully owned by someone else in the next five years, Mansour has already sold 13% and if he sells the rest at the same price then he’s made money.

I think united should give a manager some money and say.. you have time to change it, people say united were in transition under lvg but not really. You need to trust a young manager or a manager with a plan.
