The City Fear Factor in the Domestic game

Almost reminiscent of the United team under Fergie. How is it possible that City can beat teams in the PL with such ease? When Pep arrived in England,Gary Neville went to great lengths to say his approach & small technical players would struggle to win the PL yet City continue to win by more than 4 goals every game & they are not even playing aswell as they can?

I still feel City are not passing the ball as fast as Pep demands & will struggle against specific teams in the CL.Watch Bayern Munich exit the CL to Atletico Madrid in Peps last season in Germany. That team would destroy this current City side never-mind Prime Barca. There is enough evidence to suggest that the PL is currently a touch overrated & a number of teams aren't as good as people think.

Having said all that, Pep has evolved as a manager & has a win at all costs mentality, akin to Jose. Doubt Liverpool can expect to play City in an open game anytime soon as Pep will surely adjust his tactics against specific teams.

That is precisely what separates Managers like Pep, Jose & Sir Alex from talented managers like Wenger(in the past), Klopp, Poch. Its that desire to push boundaries and win at all costs. As long as Pep is in the PL I doubt any other team will win the Premier League. I hope I am wrong.

I do find it weird that so many teams just sit back and hope for the best. Being more adventurous against them will still fail 90% of the time but it seems a better gameplan than just hoping their forwards have an off day or your keeper plays a blinder.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't expect the lesser teams to play an open game with Man City as they'll get thumped and a lot of the teams at the bottom worry about their goal difference
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wigan and wolves seemed to do okay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wigan was a cup game so different compared to the league and Wolves hardly played an open game, they had 28% at home and got lucky with a hand ball game.

Lesser teams going toe to toe with City are just asking for trouble as they'll pick you apart. Teams play a defensive game for damage limitation and try to stay in the game by keeping it 1-0 and then look to go a bit more adventurous in the last 10-15 mins.

I do love these debates. The media trying to make it out that it's all about Pep forgetting that two very mediocre managers have already won the title at City. Obviously Pep isnt mediocre and has done it with more style.

The truth is if you swapped Pep n Poch's jobs in August Poch would be the one about to win the title not Pep. Pep hasn't revolutionised the league. The Sheikh has. However nobody likes to admit that's especially the bitters.

We've got 1 team backed by a country where money is no issue and all the others are being ran legitimately as businesses. It's a disgrace the rest of the clubs even put up with it to be honest. They can't win without a Sheikh so it's not really an achievement at all.

It’s not fear, it just the PL isn’t that high a technical standard.

Blood and guts football is great to watch in the PL between most teams. But doesn’t do so well against better technical and tactical players in Europe.

City have a good balance so boss the PL. , all the running in the world won’t help wolves beat them if they never have the ball

Talks about legitimacy after it came out they broke the rules and had a 5 million euro fake friendly “bribe” to get a player on loan.

The worrying thing with this is you’re clearly a big football fan, given you post on a board such as this dedicated to the subject, and are seemingly completely blind to any understanding of tactics or football itself. Are you honestly saying you’re judging solely based on whether they win a title or not? By how much and how the teams played doesn’t even enter your head at all?

What Lyon had were players who could move intelligently between the lines. They had also players who could link those players with quick passing.

The only team which has those players is Chelsea in Jorginho and Kovacic.

I'm dreading facing City and how many they'll score past us!

Nothing to do with fear factor really, it is City having a massive financial advantage over the rest of the league, just like Chelsea used to have 15 years back. Money is buying them trophies, nothing else.

Sandy,
With all due respect, this yapping about "money" is getting old. Obviously Man. City spent their money intelligently and are getting results! Would like to read your input on the deal Man. Utd. gave Sanchez! Talk about a waste of club resources!
Hopefully, in the interests of fiscal prudence and responsibility, Jose will be made to pay for any damage done to the water bottle stand that he attacked this week?
