Tricky part of the season almost

negotiated, all but over, should be all downhill now. Ah except for Spurs having to play nine games in 29 days of December.

Arsenal (A)
Southampton (H)
Leicester City (A)
Barcelona (A) CL
Burnley (H)
Arsenal (A) CC
Everton (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Wolves (H)

Seven Prem games, and two cup games. The two cup games aside, Spurs should be looking to win all the home Prem games, away games at Arsenal, Leicester or Everton are not that easy, but Spurs are clearly better than all three, so should be looking at two wins out of three. I would be looking for 18 points from the seven Prem games, that would be an excellent return.

The two cup games could go either way if the truth be told, cups are cups. Good to have a strong squad, able to compete in two or three competitions at the same time.

Exciting time though to be a Spurs supporter. Always room for improvement though, and maybe a signing in January may be on the horizon, coupled with Verts and Eriksen signing new contracts, and Spurs will be flying going into the New Year.

It is good though that Spurs as a club have not just dived in willy nilly and signed Tom, D ick and Harry pre season, and then find out most of them not up to the job. The club have stood back, seen the start, had time now to assess the strength of the squad, see it needs very few tweaks and will buy as and when. A very sensible policy, and who could disagree?

When you look at the £40m - £50m spent on the likes of Fred, Fabinho, Keita, and the sums of money being asked for like £70m for Zaha ,£40m for Greilish it is satisfying to see that our policy of being selective has paid off so far and leaves us with options/funds to target areas that really need it.

We're a good squad now and can seemingly rest players and still get results with the likes of Winks, Lamela, Moura, Sisokko, Foyth being able to step in and not weaken us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple of those players you’ve mentioned have only been at their clubs for about 3 months, can take ages to eventually find form as you well know when you consider it’s taken Sissoko over 2 years to find some form. I don’t think it was a case of us being sensible in the summer either, more a case of us mismanaging our squad by loading it with too many non-homegrown players which meant we had a very limited pool of players to choose from this summer.

Think we've done amazing well considering our injury problems ans so-called thin squad.
Priority now is new contracts for Eriksen and Toby (not sure they'll accept our top offer so Levy must raise the bar or all our good progreaa will come to a grinding halt).
Keep those 2 and a decent backup for Kane is all I'm wishing for this winter. A top midfielder in the summer when Dembele goes and probably Wanyama too.

Our squad is fine Ledders, it is showing it is plenty good enough to compete on three fronts. Absolutely nothing to do wi squad size Spurs let in a few late goals in their CL group, thus are struggling to get out.

Steady Sandy....3 points is 3 points. no point beating Chelsea then losing to Burnley at home.

I hate it when people say that. No point beating Chelsea if you lose next game blah blah. Nonsense. I’d much rather watch us annihilate a rival like Chelsea’s than Burnley. So if you gave me a choice which one to win it would be Chelsea every time. Yes of course it’s better to win both, but to say if you lose to Burnley after thrashing Chelsea somehow negates the great win is ludicrous. Surely as a fan you live for wins like that

Agreed mate, but I do get what they mean. It was a bit like beating United, then losing at Watford.

Not necessarily, no. The high of a win like that is countered in similar measure with an abject defeat. As much as some wins mean more, pathetic losses infuriate me. Prime example would be Portsmouth in 2010.
