Derby County 2 - 1 Swansea City

After 'Bitegate' and 'did he consummate the love bite' we see Derby make the Nationals for reasons not football.

Excellent!

There are some questions that Derby fans are asking themselves, like how on earth we cannot beat an under-performing, average Stoke side with 10 men?How on earth are we still playing individuals who are STILL under performing after so many chances to produce the good? S'pose we just don't have the personnel to paper over the cracks.

I can't be bothered to call the sick list. Apart from Curtis Davies who looks like having a long lay off with a busted achilles. Tom Lawrence is still fit as is BJ.

Swansea come to us having lost their last two games. So they will want a win. Shall we oblige?

Look, football is a simple game but I think we over complicate by losing to out of form teams. Is there a crisis of confidence or just a levelling off and a more realistic showing of our real ability? Prove me wrong.

A guy I used to work with ruptured his Achilles tendon stepping off a kerb. He was massively overweight and had to take about 4 months off work completely as he was unable to walk at all, then unable without crutches, for that amount of time. May have been a little longer but it was at least 6 months before he was able to fully resume his normal duties at work.

Derby won the game easily today. Made nervy by a poxy late goal. We should have been out of sight but a win is a win. I wish Carson would start coming off his line a bit for corners as that today was a farce. Harry Wilson is lethal. Nothing more to be said. Him getting on the ball 30 yards from goal and anything can happen. Tomori,Huddz, Lawrence all had good games. 3 points was needed...3 points is what we got. Deserved too.

Davies had the exact same injury in the opposite leg earlier in his career and was back playing in the Premiership inside 6 months. Career over at this level? Don’t talk soft Peeder. He won’t play this season but he knows exactly what is required to be fit for next. I hope Lampard is thinking of a similar sort of experienced leader for January though.

Lawrence was really poor against Villa but he stood out for me today. His good is pretty good but he needs to make his not so good less terrible if that makes sense (it does to me). Never thought I would see him at centre forward in preference to Wagstaff though.

Vidal
He was 22 last time.
He's 33 now and will be 34 by the time he's fit to play.
As we all know only too well, the recovery time gets longer as you get older.
I hope I'm wrong but I fear another Shaun Barker type end to.his career.

I know all that Peeder. “Probably career over” though, just no need for it.

Shaun barker completely destroyed his knee to the point it was only his skin holding the bottom half of his leg on. Literally every ligament ruptured. Whilst Curtis has a bad injury, it's not even close to the level of what Shaun suffered. He will be back next season.

Backo sums it up well, except I didn't t hink Lawrence had a good game at all. He looked completely disinterested in the first half and unless I missed it sooner, it took him 18 minutes to get his first touch.
Bryson, Jozefzoon and Lawrence should all have taken their chances better. Bryson should have had a hatrick.

For the new born

For the Rams... it's looking like we can't sustain the intensity of our early season form. We were pressing solo instead of as a team. Stoke always had an 'out' ball.

Unless munificent Mel loosens the purse strings - again - in January I can see us missing out on the top 6.
