In Game Management

For all the good things our manager does, he is useless at in game management.

Examples? The obvious ones

Juventus last year, Inter, PSV and Watford this year.

He sits on his hands when proactive managers make changes against us.

How did our subs take so long?

Also, he has to take the blame for Foyth, it was not fair on the lad to put him through this, could set him back a long way.

I'm not saying he has to go, but how is he going to get any better at it? I just think it is a gap in his range of talents that can't be easily solved.

Sanchez would make all the difference, pity he is injured.

That said Poch is not very good at game management, but am well used to it by now, so learn to live with it.

Actually, I don't think we should learn to live with it. We all have appraisals at work and given things to improve on. There is such a regular pattern here, it should be addressed by the club as a whole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well the only way to address the managers failings is usually to sack him.

Only way we will progress is with a huge budget and to pay silly wages , no disrespect to Arsenal but look at the players they signed with only Europa league to offer , same as pool a few years ago.

Arsenal are still a very average outfit despite today`s result. As usual a lot of our fans are going overboard. Spurs have had a very tough week, so although I expected a win, the defeat did not surprise me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Average how? They're something like 20 games unbeaten.

The Woolwich had more energy, no game mid week for their first XI, it made a big difference.

Still very average mate. I was not overly impressed with them today, Spurs gifted them the goals. Had Spurs really been at it, they would have won that game. Today was just about the first top four team they have beaten in yonks. I expect United, as bad as they are, to turn them over midweek.

They got lucky today playing against a tired Spurs after their exertions of the past seven days.

This is where we disagree because your view is always "if Spurs were really at it" they would have beaten so and so. Which although true is also irrelevant because it's whether you can perform at those levels much more often than not.

Arsenal on their day can beat Barcelona as well but it doesn't put them on par with Barcelona. As great a performance we have in us it's not consistent enough against big teams which is why we always fall short of a medal.

If Arsenal are average then so are we by that logic. Emery was a serial winner with Sevilla and I wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal overtake us if we continue as we are.
