Hopefully Poch Has Learned a Lesson

The only good that could possibly come out of yesterday’s game is that Poch learns from his mistake.

It was foolhardy to have selected Foyth. Everyone could see the danger of this when the line up was announced and I’m not quite sure what Poch was thinking.

Yes, Foyth is a great young prospect, but you have to be careful not to wreck the confidence of such young players. He gave away two penalties against Wolves and was very lucky not to have conceded a penalty against Chelsea last week, so quite why Poch thought it was sensible to throw him into the Lion’s den yesterday is beyond me. Truly beyond me
.
I’m not going to lie, I was so angry with Poch after yesterday’s game.

Prior to the game I was very pleased in the knowledge that we could field both Jan and Toby at the Emirates……and then I saw the line up!

My anger towards Poch has faded now, in the cold light of day. I know that he was not supported by the club in the summer and he has a limited squad to deal with. But I would just say one thing to him …..when the big games come along play your BEST players if they are fit. There can be absolutely no reason not to do this.

Lloris does not make that many mistakes compared to other goalies. Although his kicking I would like to see improved. Pickford yesterday was a joke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pickfords error was terrible yesterday but it was no worse than Hugo against Barca and PSV.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was far worse

The ball was literally going over the bar and he stopped and let Liverpool score in the last second ffs

The biggest mistake you’ll see all season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It cost his team a goal so it all adds up the same thing, at least he didn't get sent off.

Poch will get stick for playing Foyth over Toby but the midfield were so ineffective for long periods in the game that any defence would have struggled.

If you look at the Inter game Poch rested Son and Eriksen and got away with it so its hero to zero in 4 days. Remember there was nothing in Foyths performance against Chelsea to suggest he couldn't of coped with yesterday and he had a rest in mid week.

As per usual Hugo is getting a very easy ride on here, I played 5 a side last night (excellent therapy) with a group of fellow Spurs boys and afterwards we were chatting down the pub. Not one of us could remember Lloris saving a pen for Spurs infact I suggest if we give one away we should just give our opponents the goal as that would be easier than watching our keeper half heatredly fall the wrong way. If he isn't going to dive he might as well stay in the middle in case the taker goes for the centre of the goal. As for their 2nd goal well struck as it was he didn't bother diving for that either and as replays have shown he was stood quite close to it.

The way we started was unforgivable and how Poch can allow the players to go out with such a blasè attitude is beyond me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How I find myself responding to this absolutely steaming pile of utter sh*t is beyond me. Others have covered the gist of my thoughts, but I want to reiterate Lloris is a brilliant ‘keeper and there’s nobody better we could realistically hope to sign.

The only problem i have with Lloris is his kick. Sometimes gets beaten too easy at the near post but he's the best keeper we've had in my time.

Next time you are not sure whether to respond don't bother.

I play in a Spurs supporters 5 a side team, all attend games on a regular basis (3 season ticket holders) and we talk into the night over a few beers about anything and everything Tottenham.

With the possible exception of Kane the only player that brings the 5 of us to complete agreement is Hugo because we all know he isn't anywhere near consistent enough to be in a goal for a top 4 side and the bigger the game the more likely he is to screw up.

Being a season ticket holder doesn’t mean your opinion is any more sensible. I am also a season ticket holder and completely disagree. To suggest a keeper isn’t up to scratch because he doesn’t save penalties is childish.
