No club has ever made top 4 from this far back at this stage. And to make it worse we would have to chase two clubs on 8pts (effectively 9 with GD) not just one. So top 4 is all over effectively. All this mathematical nonsense is just silly. We aren't making top 4 this year and we don't deserve it either. Everyone knows it.
As for the CL....we've made it through a poor group. If Valencia had anything about them like from the past we may be looking down the barrel of Thursday night football too.
The club could sack him for various other reasons too not just poor performances. The way he's handling players in public is absolutely ridiculous and unbefitting of this great club. In fact I'm sure they could have grounds to file disciplinary procedures against him with some of the stuff he's come out with.
I was so wrong about Jose. Naively I thought he'd alter his approach a little due to it being us and not some tinpot club but if anything he's just got worse. Sir Bobby was bang on all along.
Get someone new in with fresh ideas and give them a 5 month head start on next season. We've still got 12-15 players worth keeping around. Obviously there's a good 10 or so who need to be sold or let go over next few windows.
Jardim being heavily linked with a job in Saudi Arabia right now....be a shame to miss out on him. He plays attacking football and has a brilliant track record with younger players. What he did with Monaco was nothing short of sensational and he was unlucky to have half of his team sold from under him.

I said the other day, if the reasons for not getting rid now are financial (i.e. they don't want to cough up the full amount of Mourinho's contract now), then there's very little benefit in not doing it now.
If it's just a case of waiting till a 'no CL' clause kicks in, then we'll only save about 3 months salary. We'll wait until April when qualification becomes impossible, invoke the sacking clause, and pay him a years salary. Better off doing it now.

That’s the question. But presumably they are managers at clubs already so unlikely to upsticks half way through the season, whereas in the summer they could leave their current post for United.
