...or just stick the headphones on and wait for the window to close?
Despite our somewhat inconsistent form, I'm struggling to see who or what we're likely to spend on in January. The winter transfer window is notorious for getting lack of value for money, and I can't really see anywhere that we're desperate for new blood. Yes, I'd like to see certain positions strengthened - particularly midfield and wing - but it's hard to justify paying January prices as opposed to planning, waiting for the summer and making our moves then.
Similarly, it's hard to see anyone we want to keep being snapped up in January either. Maguire would probably be the most likely, but if top teams are seeing what I see from him defensively then I can't see them stumping up anything near the price tag we'll put on him.
So aside from one or two squad players moving on, I can't see an awful lot happening this winter. Anyone think differently?
January splurge?

I’d take Drinkwater back on loan

I think Clyne is a possibility. Would offer an option to play him and Ricardo if Albrighton was out of form or we wanted to add more pace down the flank.

Clyne is I guess the sort of player I’m taking about KTF1. Out of favour at his current club but potentially something to offer.
Could he play effectively behind Perierra? Could be interesting.

I’d be really interested in seeing Clyne here. Leicester are definitely interested and the Amartey injury will probably see this one come off

Yep Clyne would be a good addition to the squad. Injury free and a run in the side he could get back to
The form that got him into the England side

I know Clyne quite well as the wife is a Liverpool fan. He’s a decent premier league right back but no more. His big strengths are overlapping on the right, but he suffers a bit with his delivery, hence Alexander Arnold and Gomez are ahead of him.
However, he’ll have something to prove and is too good to be sat on the bench or reserved, so we could be a good option to reignite his premier league career and push pereira up to his more natural position on the right.
Once again albrighton loses out only to force his way back in no doubt 😂

I wouldn't mind seeing Clyne here, although that would likely cast Ricardo as a bit of a utility player. It also depends how Puel sees the future of his squad: If he perfers Ricardo as a right back (and he's doing a lot better there over recent games than earlier in the season) and is also happy with Amartey's general progress in that area (injury notwithstanding) then I'm not sure bringing Clyne in makes a lot of sense. On the other hand, if he's happy for Ricardo to be more of a utility player and play games on the wing and has more general concerns about Amartey then Clyne could be a good buy, particularly if Liverpool were looking to offload and the price was right.
My main concern would be if he was brought in with not enough though and then ended up rotting on the bench - which would be no good for anyone.

My biggest concern would be that Puel doesn’t have concerns with Amartey at right back 😳
