Still running with the Jose in nonsense every time he's interviewed and saying he should be afforded more time and money and then comes out with this. I mean he's bang on the money we are in a race for EL football but how can that be good enough for MUFC manager? He's getting quite a bit of a stick online already and rightly so in my opinion. Which is it Gary? Are you saying that chasing EL football is acceptable for a Utd coach in his 3rd season after spending 380m?
He really has hampered himself by taking that Valencia job because ever since being sacked he's gone on the ultra cautious front. Been really impressed with him as a pundit but he's starting to get on my nerves now. I think he's afraid to speak the truth about the Utd situation because he knows Jose will murder him in his following press conference. Bit cowardly really from Nev.

The club obviously have more faith in Mourinho than any interim. That’s what’s so worrying about this club right now. And why we’ll continue to suffer on the pitch once Mourinho is gone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my worry, and is the main reason why I’m indifferent to Mourinho’s fate. Very little over the last five or so years has given me any sense that the immediate future, at least, is bright. Fast-forward to Christmas 2019 and I bet we’re still complaining about playing style, selection and probably signings too.
Then again, we might get it right through sheer luck.

Clockwork, yep that’s my thinking too.

If we are getting fed up chopping n changing managers why can't we find a positive one who plays good football and brings youth through and stick with him regardless???
Jose is not someone you stick with. He's normally a quick fix that doesn't last long.

Reports coming out that Jose is here until the end of the season.
.................
Not going to happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why are you so sure?
Both LVG and Moyes stayed until top 4 was unattainable
.....
Because if Jose stays then top four will be out of reach by March.

He seems to treat Mourinho as the winner he was 10 years ago when it's obvious he's no longer the successful man he used to be. 4 of his last 6 seasons have ended trophyless.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But how many of Pockets' last 6 seasons have ended trophyless?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What the actual feck has that got to do with Mourinho's failure?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a legitimate question.
Also what failure?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4 trophyless seasons in his last 6, with large amounts of money at his disposal. That one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He won the league in one of those non trophyless seasons. When did Bottleham shiiiitspur last do that I wonder?

Bottleham shiiiitspur
Enjoyed that, thanks Wahl.

I Do feel for your fans, never had any issue with Utd and have some good mates who are Utd fans.
It just beggars belief what comes out this guys mouth, you try and try to make sense of it but there are just no logical reason for the teams he picks, and the nonsense he comes out with.
I think decades in the limelight have built up a barrier for himself where he has lost any sense or logic, and it drives you crazy trying to think of reasons why he does what he does, as humans it’s normal to think “why did he do that” etc.
It’s actually depressing watching someone who had so much spark and passion, was genuinely funny and liked in football circles, to whatever shell of himself he looks now. The guy never looks happy.

Mourinho used to foster the idea that it was a case of "us against the rest of the world" to engender at least a semblance of solidarity & unity.
Nowadays it's been denigrated to simply "me against the rest of the world"
Now you know how we felt under Souness/Hodgson

Souness is a classic example, as is Roy Keane, of someone who worked with a truly great man manager and didn't learn a thing from him.

Nick
Even though he's managing a rival, it's heartbreaking to see what Mourinho's become. As you say he used to be so full of energy and passion, always been a pr!ck but he used to enjoy being the pantomime villain (kind of like a heel in WWE), now it's like he doing it out of habit.
Once United's board inevitably see the obvious and dismiss him he should really take a break from football, reassess his methods or contemplate whether he even wants to return to the game. It'll probably help his prospects of getting another top job tbh as the Chelsea/United failures won't be so fresh. International management could benefit him with the lighter schedule, or follow Benitez and take a sleeping giant seeing how far he can take them. He needs to change something, get his love for football back or decide he's had enough and focus on other passions. It's hard seeing him look so damn miserable.
