Have finally been given the keys to the asylum.
With news that a Met Police officer who knocked a teenager off a moped while employing a new ramming tactic could face criminal charges

It would appear that if you steal a moped then use it to commit a crime there will be nothing the police can do to counter it without the fear of being prosecuted themselves.
Looks like the inmates

It’s simple ffs
Just closely follow the moped without getting too close as to make him crash (he has no helmet)
If he gets off and tries to do a runner you’re close enough to pull over and run after him.
If you notice he’s not wearing appropriate running shoes or ankle support/knee/elbow pads for a high speed footchase just hang back and run slowly behind him.

If only it were that simple ey. Not forgetting the fact mopeds can go down alleyways, go through small gaos onto another road etc etc.

What if he gets off and starts running but he's just had his nails done. You can't then go running after him, tackling him as you'll wreck his nails. You should just jog next to him and tell him very strongly to please go to the police station but not so strongly that it offends him. Also he needs to be provided with refreshments in case he gets tired of all the running.

At the end of the day it is up to the individual officer whether or not they want to pursue, collide with and knock off a moped rider. No-one else can force them to do this likewise pull the trigger in the case of using a firearm. No-one is going to back you up when it all goes wrong and it’s not worth your career being jeopardised.
Apparently, the PM approved of the use of this tactic involving moped riders being forced off their machines so she, or someone from her office should be made to go to court (should it come to that) and make themselves accountable or explain their actions.

Are we really that intent on making our police force impotent? If it’s not dwindling officer numbers and funding from government it’s this. We might as well send a tweet saying it’s open season for criminals to do whatever you want.
These little gets put themselves in harms way by going out on the rob on mopeds in the first place. They don’t have any consideration for the victims, who they cause physical and psychological harm. They deserve everything they get.

I wonder if these idiots defending criminals would be so forth coming if they or their family members were the victims.

Like to see them blast a police officer after one of their loved ones just received a face full of acid from a criminal/thief on a moped with no helmet who got away cause police aren't allowed to intervene.
