58 Games & counting.....

Without a penalty.....

The last one was against Reading. Saturday, Oct 14 2017 and we missed it!

From what I can find, this is a new record, by some distance.

England 53 games (Feb 86 - June 90)
Sheff Utd 50 games (March 91-Aug 92

What is going on?

I thought the one on Roofe was worse.

The officials have meetings. The officials agree they don't like us. The officials are biased.

The FL is corrupt.

Some truth in terms of having players who are likely to draw a foul in the box Lubo.. Clarke might win a few.

But unlike Burnley who went about a year without getting one, we do spend plenty of time camped in the opposition half with players in the box. We’ve had penalties against us for minor shirt pulls, blatant dives... and had diddly go for us. The Jansson shirt pull on Saturday was the most blatant example of it in front of the ref.

I've seen plenty of penalties not given against Leeds for shirtpulling in the box this season. A few from Cooper spring to mind.

The reality is that most of these decisions are in the soft penalty category. Should we have had one for the Hunter thing the other day? Yes, but I can absolutely see why that wasn't spotted.

Also, we don't spend that much time camped in the opponent's penalty area.

Not having a pen for 58 games is nothing do to with not being in the area enough, i'd like to see some stats on that anyway.

A few games ago we had 5 times more touches in the box than the team we were playing, might have been Reading actually.

How can you possibly argue that time spent in the penalty area doesn't relate to penalties. You obviously won't get as many penalties if, like we do, you build attacks from the back and spend a lot of time with the ball in midfield around the penalty area.

That's not what I said

I must have misinterpreted you directly saying it here then.

Of course you've misinterpreted it. There are no other teams who have gone as long as us without one, are you saying we haven't deserved a single penalty in all that time??

Can you imagine what it's like being a ref, going into a Leeds game, thinking, 'will I be the first to give them a pen, will I be the first? Nah, maybe not.'
I don't think there is a bias against us, it's just that we see some shocking refereeing in this league. It went in our favour against Forest a few weeks back with Roofe's equaliser, but we were denied a clear penalty in that one too. Almost every team feels let down in one way or another. It's so bad that a decent referee stands out like a sore thumb.
