Decent result, but an absolute

awful performance. Southampton should have had an absolute hatful 2nd half, and the win flattered Spurs big time, but three points is three points I suppose. Something absolutely not right with the way Spurs are just now. Winks is not the answer in midfield, pretty well got overrun there all night. Southampton can think themselves very unlucky not to have gone away with at least a point, and probably should have had all three.

Spurs simply cannot perform like that against any half decent side, they will lose. The rotation is killing the side, absolutely no cohesion, lacking in energy all over the pitch. The defence never looks it has ever played together before, and no way was it going to keep a clean sheet. Back in the top four, but there really is something missing.

I had high hopes for this season, but unless they raise their game it will all end pretty quickly. Kane scored again, then barely had a touch, Moura scored and that was all he did. Trippier was his usual self, not very good. Winks needs to learn the basics before thinking he is Bobby Moore.

Nothing good came out of that match for me tonight, other than the result.

Another poor performance from Lloris. Until he saves a penalty then he's not convincing anyone.

Hugo made some good saves although one was to atone his own error when he spilt it straight to them. I don't think wanting our keeper to save a pen from time to time is such a bad aspiration.

I'd rather we didn't concede the penalties.

Lloris may have been MOTM today.

i'd love to believe we took our foot off to gas because we knew the game was won but this is Spurs !!!! saints Battered us in the second half. We are not trying to improve the team year on year, the legs have a lot of miles on them, the message from the manager starts to sound the same and players get complacent. We are a side treating water, still a good side, capable of beating anyone on their day but more often than not we are scraping by. All things considered, stadium, WC, no signings, wembley etc we are doing fine but to expect anything more is totally unrealistic. That was the most lopsided 3-1 win against utter dross you will see. If we get our fair share of luck and if Hugo acts like a WC winning Keeper there will likely be plenty more of these this season. if all goes to plan we'll come 3rd or 4th... if not then then it's back to the Europa. Spurs and some of our fans are the definition of insanity .... keep doing the same things over and over and expect a different outcome. From the moment the summer window shut and nothing happened this was exactly what i expected. By the end of the hectic christmas fixtures id expect us to be 10 points behind Pool & god knows how many behind City so it will be same old, same old. Let's just get in the new gaff, enjoy that, hope we can keep the best players and recycle the squad next summer and move on. Judging by that crowd there's a lot that are bored of spurs and wembley and a few players who look like they've lost that hunger... totally understandable

Strangely enough I'd rather we didn't concede them as well. I agree that the way we played after going 3 up he was MOTM and needed to be.

I don't think our performances are going to fully click with all the changes. Without a fully settled back 4 then clean sheets will be harder to come by. I can see why Poch is rotating with the number of games, but there's probably an element of not knowing which players are deserved starters. You have a few positions when you could question who is better than the other, unlike a couple of seasons ago when the starting 11 was fairly obvious.

That said we're winning the majority of our games and are up to third. It honestly can't be that bad.

We coasted the entire match, maybe better opposition would have brought out a better performance, but we rode our luck tonight.

No bite in midfield, too casual and lacking intensity. We`ve had a tough couple of weeks, maybe its fatigue, our injury list is not helping either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Leicester will turn us over at the weekend, absolute sure of that. Poch will rotate the whole team again, and you will see another completely disjointed performance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My God Sandy!! How do you go from predicting we'll win the league next season to us losing against Leicester in our next game after a 3-1 win, on the same day!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Try to keep up mate, I have put up an article earlier today, changing my expectations due to the unprecedented injury situation and the constant rotation every game. Yesterday was one such game which shows that the constant rotation of the team, the defence especially is going to kill the season.
