Natural order you say?
That’s what you call laying down a marker, we welcome a challenge but don’t get too ahead of yourselves folks as this Celtic squad is still a few levels above what’s on offer in Scotland.
That was as dominating as I’ve seen from a Celtic side at home under Brendan Rodgers in that first 45 mins. The high press, speed of passing and the final ball/finish was at the very highest level.
First goal is a great cross from Izzy and you don’t fully appreciate Forrest’s contribution until you see the replay and the yard he covers just before Izzy sticks it in, phenomenal desire to get there and what a finish from a boy who is a bloody stick on for POTY unless he gets a bad injury or suddenly looses all form over the next 2 or 3 months.
2nd goal is a terrific move, Benkovic again starting it with a ping into Christie who takes a delightful first touch (btw, his first touch is an absolute dream) and fires it into Rogic who cushions it to Eddy who takes a wonderful first touch and slots it home.
3rd goal was as simple as they come, probably the only one I could say was shocking defending from Killie.
4th is a brilliant free kick from Christie, wall was a bit suspect but he’s still done well.
5th is some move as well and Christie’s meg tugged at my heart strings, what a finish from Forrest
The whole team played brilliantly well but I thought Izzy, McGregor and Sinclair were outstanding and special mention to Jozo btw, absolute rock the past 2 games for me and looking back to his best, although the acid test will be this Thursday against Salzburg.
2 points clear at the top now with a game in hand and a win on Thursday means we are into the EL last 32 and can concentrate fully on the league which is ominous for the rest of the league.
