David Luiz

Replace Rudiger ? ,no way, he is essential to our team,for his commitment ,his enthusiasm ,and his all round personna.
To say nothing of his all round adaptability .

Yeah I wouldn't want Rudiger replacing right now, he's looking our most assured defender and has been brilliant this season. He's 25 so reaching the peak of his powers, no way should he be a back up.

Rumours of us signing Napoli's right back, Hysaj, not sure what that means for Azpi.

Yeah Rudiger has easily been our best defender this season. Need to find him a partner in the summer.

Luiz was brilliant against City but has made so many costly mistakes this season. Should be a squad player for us next season.

He's a Rolls Royce of a footballer and athlete but we all know for every fantastic game he has, there's a calamity just round the corner!

the reason I have in the past advocated his inclusion in midfield....this may not be a popular vision I understand...but he does bring something different in there..as does Rubes

Yea I think he could go in the summer, but that for me will be a positive... IF we can bring in someone decent to replace Rudiger.

Now, here me out, I like Rudiger and hes come on alot and hes trying which I like to see.. But... I just feel Like Luiz offers more so for me it would be better if we had a solid defender at the back who could partner Luiz for a season or 2 and Rudiger is then our back up and hes a good back up IMO

Luiz and Rudiger complement each other really well. Why in the world would we want to replace them now - after showing how great they are just this past weekend? They have been shaky in the past few weeks - but the game against Man City proved that they are still the best players we have for that position.What we need is to replace Cahill and Christensen with players who are good enough to push Luiz and Rudiger for a first team place - and keep them performing at their best.
Why aren't we in the running for Toby Auderweireld, for instance? He may prefer to go to Man Utd - but equally he may prefer to keep his family in London.
Also, while we're on this topic - why does Chelsea persist with this stupid rule that we can only offer over 30 players a one year contract? Every player is unique, and should be treated independently. If a player is naturally fit, and can continue at the highest levels until they are 32-33, why wouldn't we offer them a 2 year contract? It's just stupid penny-pinching, and may mean we will lose our leaders - Luiz in this case.

Because we don't want to end up in another post 2010 double situation where most of the squad start showing their age leaving us up shet creek without a paddle.
