yeah it all went wrong in Belgrade, only ourselves to blame

I know we were crap at Napoli but that late goal ruined us. Would have been a valuable point which would have made life easier today.

the games against other english clubs in europe are epic though

I'll take one of the manc money clubs in the last 8 of the CL over arsenal in the EL last 8

No dressing it up as far as I'm concerned, we're trying to establish ourselves as challengers for the big trophies and going out in the groups would be a massive disappointment.

People will point to Belgrade as the reason we're in this position and with some justification but the approach in Naples was equally poor IMO. It looked, especially in the second half, that we were happy to defend and take a point. It cost us.

The Napoli defeat was one of our worst performances this season and they narrowly beat us. I think we can do the job tonight as the team are playing a lot better.

I would love us to drop our current style and go all out against them. Gegenpressing and attacking non stop. Rattle them up early, get the crowd behind us and smash the greasy Italians to pieces

Going to Napoli and winning is incredibly tough though. I thought Carlo schooled Klopp tactically that game to be honest. They drew us on to them and then had an out ball every time which took out about 5 of our players. The issue we have is that if they score at any point, we'll need 3. I think we'll win but it'll be 2-1.

Definitely, tough place to go, but we didn't really seem to have a plan to win and (in the second half) just wanted the draw. Not the result that bothered me as much as the approach.

Perhaps I'm not giving Napoli enough credit or perhaps the Keita injury effected us tactically. Or perhaps we just didn't play well.

Whatever the case, we have a chance to redeem ourselves tonight.

I think we're actually quite lucky to be in the position we are in. All three of our performances away from home in the group were derisory, and as mentioned the scoreline against Napoli could have been considerably worse.

It's a position I'd have taken at the start but we need to make it count. So important we progress tonight.
