I know everyone was probably impressed by Kalidou Koulibaly who was probably the best defender on the park in Napoli's game against liverpool last night but I was very much impressed by Raul Albiol aswell.I thought the former Real Madrid defender was very calm in posession, brought it out so well and more than matched Mane on a few occasions.
It would be nice to sign a Kalidou Koulibaly but he is simply not in our price range. Its a pity Raul is 33, would have been the kind of signing Sven would make to improve us.
In other news I thought Dembele was great against Spurs last night. Always rated him a lot even at Rennes and his lack of game time at Barca could be the type of thing that elevates his hunger to do better, sort of like Thierry when he left Juve.
How much would Dembele realistically cost?

People forget if it wasn’t for terrible finishing we would have won 5-6 - 1. Albiol was the weak link.

Was a decent tackle I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Their defence was crap, if we had finished even 50% of our chances it would have been 3 or 4 nil.

not really. the full backs were the weak link. Most of your chances came off crosses.
In any case Im not saying Raul is a world beater, he just held his own against Mane & Salah and brought the ball out of defence well.
The defenders were helped by how poor Firminho was though

Nobody noticed how at 06:41 Koulibaly was walking back, failing to cover Salah and gifting Liverpool a chance to make it 1-0? Thought he was lazy and looked sluggish for the goal. By no means the best cb on the pitch that night.
