Connection?

In the past, the defence of AR's focus on his media businesses has been what is good for those businesses is good news for Leeds.

Well, now it looks like Eleven Sports are in a spot of bother, so does the converse hold true, does what is bad for his businesses mean problems for Leeds?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/12/12/leeds-face-financial-difficulty-withandrea-radrizzanis-eleven/

I'd imagine that at the very least this affects AR's ability to provide any sort of financial assistance to Leeds, but at worst could see him trying to exit money from the Leeds business and allow opportunists to try and buy into Leeds, just as Cellino did from GFH.

My gut feel is that he's overstretched his ability to deliver and is now paying the price for lack of delivering to commitments.

Can’t open your link Jonty but I think you are mixing up two different companies

I think he's probably trying to link to the parent company, Eleven Sports Network:

Faith channel co stated match 2015, AR is director, then changed name to eleven sports network. Eleven sports uk is wholly owned subsidiary. AR been involved all along, network (parent company) made loss last year.

The story you posted is about Eleven Sports Uk.

I said Eleven Sports Uk is a few months old. And you told me it’s not. It’s been going since 2015.

Doesn’t this all come down to how much has been invested into Eleven sports uk?

If he has pumped tens of millions in and stands to lose it then I’m sure it’s nit good news. If he has only committed an amount he can afford to lose and it’s costed then I’m sure it’s not much to worry about.

I have no info one way or the other so can’t really get too worked up about it till I know more.

Does anyone else have this info?

But it doesn’t look good for the rest of the business if he pulls the plug on the UK one.

Would you sign deals with a company, who pulls out of deals after 4 months ???

Sorry for confusion, my point was eleven sports network owns the eleven sports uk and AR has been in since beginning, and eleven sports network owned by Aser.

Have any of you read the Guardian's report on this?

Following is an excerpt:

"Eleven Sports, which was forced to stop its controversial practice of broadcasting European games on Saturday afternoons after pressure from football stakeholders, is aiming to renegotiate rights deals to avoid pulling the plug on its service.

The situation has been triggered by the UFC triggering an exit clause on its exclusive deal with Eleven Sports, which was due to begin in January, after Eleven Sports was unable to secure promised distribution via pay-TV platforms including Sky, Virgin Media and BT.

Eleven Sports is aiming to renegotiate its sports rights deals at a much cheaper rate to try to continue to operate a much smaller, commercially viable operation in the UK.

“Without carriage agreements with the existing platforms, alongside the challenges posed by rampant piracy, the current market dynamics in the UK & Ireland are very hostile for new entrants,” said a spokesman for Eleven Sports. “We are in discussion with our rights partners, La Liga and IMG, about how we can restructure our existing agreements in order to continue our current OTT [streaming] service.”"

I don't share the understanding that they are "pulling out of deals."

What’s hard to understand

They are going to close unless they get a cheaper deal.

Four months into deals.

Poor business

They tried it out, didn't work and are negotiating a revised deal. Even Mike's lass would agree that's not pulling out!
