Now all of the CL formalities are out of the way let’s get back to business in the league.
Just the small matter of a mid table team playing their cup final against us. No doubt we’ll see the small club mentality of parking the bus. I’m imagining a back 5 with 2 holding midfielders and the 2 wide players holding back to support the full backs with Fellaini up top.
They’re due a good stuffing, I just hope the boys are fired up and clinical enough to hand one out.
One concern I have is for the safety of our players. I can see a few Fellaini elbows going unpunished as well as attempted ankle breakers from Young and Valencia.
Ideal world, we put 4/5 past them and Jose has a meltdown. I’d settle for a 1-0 so long as we suffer no knocks or injuries.

Yeah the injuries to our back four are a worry. So too are Martial and Rashford.

They will be key to any potential result for us, however I see Jose going with Lukaku up front and Rashford LW.

Well if he does Id be happier. Considering it'll likely be an unfit Lovren and Milner at rb Id have Martial and Rashford buzzing around that channel all day. VVD would just monster Lukaku I feel.

That City game was more the anomaly imo. The front 3 almost always needs chances before it clicks then we just tear teams apart.

As an aside re: VVD tackle. In typucal 606 fashion I didnt see anyone up in arms about Verratti in the game before. Sure Gomez didnt roll around like a big melt but it was just as bad. Just highlighting the moronic partisan element of some on here.
