Celtic 1 v 2 RB Salzburg

Let’s get the bad stuff out the way first, we had a few shockers last night in terms of individual performances.

Tom Rogic probably had his worst game in a Celtic jersey, it’s actually funny how bad he was, Edouard, Jozo and McGregor were all absolutely chronic as well.

Still amazed we got in at half time at 0-0 but that was down to fantastic goalkeeping by Craig gordon. Of course, he then went and ruined it all by committing a flooking schoolboy error by throwing out underarm next to a player,

Actually thought Scott Brown and Ntcham helped us a lot when they came on, but it was a big blow to lose Christie who was starting to find his feet. Doesn’t look good but fingers crossed it’s not too bad and he’ll be back by the end of January.

What I would say is the urge to sign a striker and a goal scoring midfielder is now more evident than ever.

Btw I thought big Ajer did ok at right back, perhaps an option to play him there as he’s quite quick across the ground and uses the ball well.

Benkovic and KT were our only pass marks from the starting 11, Benkovic was outstanding up front btw another penalty missed but at least the rebound was scored.

Anyway, we have qualified and that’s still a very good achievement, we’ve finished higher than a team 4th in the Bundesliga, make no mistakes about it, Salzburg are streets ahead of us and I’ll be honest and say they were a joy to watch last night, cracking footballing side who weren’t afraid to get stuck in.
