Nice guys...

Leeds United will not receive a loan fee or any up-front cash from Getafe in the loan-to-buy Samuel Saiz transfer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The regional newspaper claim the Championship giants “will receive no immediate fee for the Spaniard" as part of the deal that takes the playmaker back to his homeland for the rest of the season.

The YEP report there is a “view to a permanent £6million transfer at the end of the season" as Marcelo Bielsa revealed at his media conference after Saturday’s win over Bolton Wanderers that Saiz has been given permission by the club to leave ahead of the January window.

I'm not hating on Saiz or his situation. I think the club has handled the situation in a very mature manner and it reflects well on AR, MB, VO and AK. They deserve to be praised when credit is due, and they have dealt with Samu and his situation well.

That being said it is still objectively a poor deal for the club.

Not sure there's any hate on here.

The financial deal isn't great, Getafe will be happy no doubt. If the money men at ER are happy with what's happening, then we have to trust that.

On a personal level, it's fabulous that the club are letting the guy go, if he's got circumstances for he and his partner to deal with. I think we'd all like to believe our employer would do similar.

It's bad that Bielsa loses a player he clearly values and does add value to our squad.

But, if Saiz has personal circumstances that mean he would like to move back and its clear from lack of financial recompense that it's not the club cashing in then the club have done the right thing in trying to accommodate this player's personal situation.

Brown was supposed to be the backup for Saiz, so with him coming back to matches now, we're fortunate with the timing.

In years gone past our Chairman would have commented about the player in the programme notes and to the press to try and discredit the player to the fans.

Well played by the club to manage this internally as much as possible and there will be life after Saiz, there always will be when a player moves on.

Good luck to him and his family. More to life than footy and all that.

No fee but it releases his wages. We might need to use that money if Brown is injured again.

Getafe record transfer is €6m ten years ago. With average crowds of 10,200 I would be wary about the eventual fee.
