Just a thought...

Jose going is best for all. It's been done to death on about a 1000 threads below so nothing more on that subject.

I wanted to talk about Jose himself. He has always been a hit and a likable chap for even rival fans at times during his managerial career. But having watched him over his tenure with us, it steered a lot towards a loss of love for the game by his behaviour, deemenor and mannerisms. But for me it looks like he's possibly suffering from depression too.

Thoughts?

He’s not depressed, he’s done the same antics at his last two clubs. It’s the way he is. Poisonous and volatile, from the moment he wasn’t given money to buy more players in the summer he downed tools and deliberately tried to get the sack.

He’s irrelevant and won’t be fondly remembered much over the years. Just another expensive mistake that we have been used to since Fergie retired.

It seems to be a bit like Wenger syndrome. So revered and unanswerable to anyone because of a previous track record that no one dares question him

Everyone needs to be pushed & challenged a bit to stop going stale. If no one ever tells you anything you carry on doing the exact same things and the inevitable happens

Look at how Steve Bould just used to sit gormlessly on the Arsenal bench watching a team that simply could not defend, Rice before him was the same. No one ever said, Boss...we need to do something different, your making mistakes

Without Faria, Jose was lost. He needs to reinvent himself. Any club that takes a punt on him now is just kidding themselves. His ego has gone out of control

I wouldn't be so sure. I think he needs a long break from football as he seems to be mentally shattered. I'm not a fan of how he was in the end with us but I also see the human side and if he's suffering, no matter what his payoff, I wish him well.

I agree he needs time away to evaluate his man management and tactics, he’s one of the most stale managers going now.

That’s three clubs in a row he’s been sacked from now, and in each club he’s displayed similar antics that made the players lose faith in him. It only just hit me how petty he has acted, deliberately sabotaging the club just because his ego was bruised by Ed.

I don't disagree with your post Arab. He's acted poorly and is so far removed from the guy we all saw in 2004 was cheeky with his arrogance. He just turned bitter recently is seemed.

A long break would do him the world of good and hopefully banish any demons he has.

If he’s genuinely been affected by his father’s death, then I retract my harsh comments. But you’d think he would be acting more humble if that was the case, instead he’s just acted the same as his Chelsea and Real stints. Some of us were foolish to think he would change.

Think is we don't know so perhaps you're not being harsh.

My displeasure with his management of United won't mask my feelings of sympathy towards him if he does have issues. He doesn't help himself though and, like you say, it'd be much easier to be sympathetic if he were a bit more humble. However, by all accounts, away from the game he's a nice guy so who knows the story.

Depression or not for him though I am glad he's gone. It wasn't working and the club have done the right thing IMO for both parties.

and also he'll end up paying off some of the players the next manager wants to get rid of because of the crazy contracts
