DUFC News - TAKEOVER

The long-awaited takeover of Dundee United by an American businessman has been completed.

Mark Ogren becomes the new Chairman of Dundee United having purchased 86% of the shares of the club. Mike Martin steps away from the club completely, with Jimmy Fyffe and David Dorward staying on as directors.

I don't know much about him - the club hadn't announced his name during the negotiations - but I believe he has been involved with Baseball teams before.

On the surface it's good news - the club needed a new direction - but we'll wait and see what the new man says and, importantly, does as he takes control.

We don't say 'the mora' here. We're more likely to say "ar ye oot the morns night?"
