For £6m a year and for what we have seen come thro do you think it’s working from the 10 years Wassall has been in charge?
Why not close the academy just have a youth team for 16 year old outwards and go round smaller teams like Swindon, Cheltenham, Matlock and cherry orchard and sign their best players from their academy. Delap anf Johnson have done well in the last 3 years recruiting from other lower league team’s graduated academy players. Makes me laugh tho when people class Bogle as home grown.
How many home grown players have been successfully broken thro in the last 10 years? Hughes....how much £ has players from
Derbys academy been sold on for?
The only thing I think forest have better than us is their academy over the last few years. They have sold a few for a lot of £ and have players in their 1st team.

Brereton at Forest didn't come through their ranks but they think of him as an Academy product and they sold him for a lot of money. I don't think I have ever come across such a relentlessly negative fan as Griff. Bogle was still at school when he came to Derby. Thomas was another one who came in from elsewhere at an early age. Are we saying that we are only allowed to have players in our Academy who were conceived, born and who have never left the county?

Bogle was 16 and graduated from Swindon, Thomas was 18 and signed from Cheltenham. How are these home grown players? These 2 are down to delap and Seth’s scouting.
Negative? More realistic about how the academy is being run for the cost of it. Wassall is a fraud.

In other news, Max Lowe is returning from his loan spell with Aberdeen in the new year.

I want to see Derbyshire lads playing for Derby and being proud to play for their boyhood club. Don’t seem to have many of these lads over the past few years.

South Normo lad. Would be nice for him to na down a place and become a regular feature. Hoping max Hunt will break thro at some point as well. High hopes for Liam Delap if we can hold to him

Hunt has been in Forest and Mansfield's academies before we signed him.

Griff I have to say you sound a bit like 666 in a slimmer body. He has a huge down on Keogh (inexplicable). You seem to have a down on Wassall though it is disguised as contempt for the job he is doing with the youngsters. Our Academy performs reasonably well and I think that has a lot do with how well our U-23 side competes against the bigger clubs.

Any opinions changed, for the positive, obviously, after Norwich?
