Vardy is clever enough to know how his comments would be construed. When asked whether the style suited him, his first word response was "No". Yes, he went into greater detail and explained it more, but when your first response is "No", it doesn't matter, you've thrown the red meat to the wolves, no point trying to clarifying it. It was his way of saying to Top, to Rudkin, to the fans, that this guy isn't playing to my strengths.

What's he supposed to do when asked that question then Foxy? Lie? Say he does fit in Claude's system when it's obvious to anybody with half a brain that he doesn't? In doing so confirming to everyone he's a blithering idiot? There's only one answer he could give realistically.

Interesting to note that Sarri recognises the quality of Hazard and allows him a free role making him one of the best players in the Premier League this Season.

What do we do with Vardy ( one of the best in his role ) , we isolate him, nullify his best qualities and want him to change the way he plays.

You're quite right, BS. The leaks could be coming from anyone. They could be coming from Mike Stowell, Jon Rudkin, Alan Birchenall, the tea lady, Claude Puel's dentist, the ghost of Arthur Chandler. But given the nature of the leaks, I think we all know who the most plausible source. And I can't help but think that your assertion that the players aren't behind them would be more convincing if we didn't have players giving interviews saying the manager doesn't play to their strengths.

What do you mean the nature of the leaks? The back room staff, particularly senior ones, are far closer to the board than the players are. Where do you think the leaks are coming from when it’s discussing the fact that Puel nearly got sacked at the end of last season?

It's simple - you don't start your answer with the word "No", especially if you don't want your comments to be jumped on by the press. I don't see an awful lot wrong with the rest of his response and if we'd started his answer with something like "It's not a style I'm use to but I'm learning and improving" rather than "No", it changes the whole manner of the interview and nobody is talking about it as being an attack on Puel.

At the end of the day you have a track record for being very wrong. You embarrassed yourself over Pearson having to write a public apology. You got it wrong over Sven. You are now wrong about Puel who has delivered nothing in his time at Leicester.

Forget 12 months, I don’t need that amount of time for you to embarrass yourself yet again.
