Morning Liverpool fans. And Pranks.
So it appears that Puels time at Leicester is coming to an end unless we somehow get 4 points from Chelsea and City. Papers reporting that he’s very close to being given the boot and has lost every player in the dressing room with his appallingly dull brand of football.
The telegraph reckons the Leicester chiefs are eyeing up a move for Brendan Rodgers, possibly in the summer. Now I don’t know why but I’ve never been convinced by him. I’d ask the Celtic fans for their opinion but there’s no point, even Tony Adams would win trophies with that club.
So Liverpool fans - what do you reckon to Rodgers? A premier league flop or just at Liverpool at the wrong time? What’s he like tactically? Always got the impression he talked a lot but delivered little - maybe I’m being harsh
Oh and admin - bring Cosmic back
Brendan Rodgers

You know what BS, if you what to believe that then go ahead, knock yourself out. We'll see if we are still having the same debate about more leaks about another manager in 12 months time. I'm so bored of arguing with you over this, just please yourself.

Rodgers was a good manager for us and two points away from winning the league with an inferior squad to at least two or three teams. His final season was an issue as we lost the balance of the team he'd built and signed Balotelli, who he didn't want. We ended up playing Sterling as the striker, who Rodgers helped immensely with his defensive work and tactical understanding.
He plays a very exciting and attacking brand of football but without the right players, games will be 4-3's, rather than 2-0's due to it being very easy to get through to the defence.
For some reason some people didn't like him personally which I never understood, due to his comments on tactics etc. which I actually thought were very modern and intelligent. He travelled across Europe learning different methods before his first role in management and has a more European approach.
Good manager who was very unlucky to end up with Suarez sold and Sturridge injured, with Balotelli brought in against his wishes. If we didn't have Sterling that season we'd have finished bottom half.

For the last time - club leaks don’t necessarily come from players How would they know what the board are thinking?!

I think every Leicester fan would take that right now

With all due respect, for Leicester's current level, I think he'd be an excellent choice. Doesn't matter how Puel is doing, Rodgers is better IMO.

He’s a poor mans Pep....
Not that that’s meant in a bad way. He has one way of playing and puts all his effort in achieving it.
When it comes off he looks like a genius, unfortunately he was found wanting at Liverpool when other managers figured him out

I don't think he was found wanting. Just he lost two good strikers and gained a crap one he didn't want. We then struggled for goals.

He was poor at transfers.. Incredibly poor.
Some people say: He had to work under a transfer committee, but so does klopp, made up of the staff in the same club positions as rodgers did. Rodgers resented it: klopp embraces it. Rodgers played his favourites and left the rest to rot.
Some say klopp has not compromised: but he thought salah was too lightweight and eventually bowed to the pressure of the scouting staff, showing that the system works (in fact its employed across europe)
Rodgers biggest problem is that he fancied himself as a Fergie, in complete control of the club, top to bottom,
He didnt have the clout, the success nor the foundations for such power plays, especially when he knew the moneyball ethos the owners wanted to build the clubs foundation with.
He played some amazing football, his subs were always tactically astute, a fantastic man manager and a great developer of players. He just needed a bit of humility, to accept the benefits of transfer consensus and to concentrate on the matches rather than trying to consolidate power over the club.
Think he WILL make a fantastic manager and think his time at celtic will have done him some good
