Half-term Report

So here we are half way through our Big, Big Season.

These are the figures:

Pl 19 W 7 D 5 L 7 GF 20 GA 22 Pts 26

For the most part we have played attractive football, but with one or two lapses.

Top of the Class: Doherty
Doing Well: Patricio, Bennett, Moutinho, Jiminez
Steady Progress: Coady, Jonny, Boly, Saiss, Jota, Cavaleiro
Could Do Better: Neves, Costa
Struggling: Traore

Our Teacher: Full Marks.

So if Neves and Costa can work a little bit harder and do their homework and if Traore can get himself out of detention the end of term report might make interesting reading

Impact subs and squad players SAISS ?
He was all over the pitch today and seemed to have more energy than half the rest put together.
Traore as I said two months ago does not have a footballing brain. Shame but no good for us.
Get Mitrovic in.

The article is about half a season, not just today Boston. And personally I think our best two in midfield are Neves and Moutinho not Saiss

I’d have Traore at Leicester - the guy looks like a beast and is probably more suited to us to be honest. In return we could give you Iheanacho (he’s amazing honestly)

He is a beast and faster than a speeding bullet but his list of weaknesses is lengthy. Tries to too much and runs into blind alleys. Poor decision making. Poor crossing balls. Doesn't track back enough. Generally doesn't help out the defence enough. Spends too much time on his backside.
In his defence though I would say he is showing some improvement in most if not all of these areas and with continued coaching, by the end of the season he will be a much better player. Whether he will ever be worth what we paid for him though is debatable.

Traore showed at Boro last season that he can play, not least against Wolves. And he has had his good spells for Wolves. We certainly haven’t seen the best of him and given how Nuno and his team have improved the likes of Doherty, Coady and Bennett I hope they can start to get the best out of Traore

To be honest, Traore has failed as a Premier League player, in my opinion. He's been given many opportunities to shine, but has come up short, especially against top quality sides. He's also disrupted our 3-4-3 style of play, by playing hoofball, hoping he'll get on to long balls over an opponents midfield. Much better suited to Championship, where he'll probably end up next season.

Agree.

surprised to hear this about traore but you guys would know better than me. i thought he looked good coming in for the last half hours of games. good energy but no end product?

Yeah he started the season looking very exciting from the bench but that hasn't carried over at all into games and he looks a little lost at times now to be honest.

No doubt at all he is our fourth best 'wide' player despite being the most expensive.
