Pogba and Lingard

Now have two goals, two assists and an MOTM performance *each* in two games.

I said when Ole was appointed that these guys would be absolutely critical in getting our season back on track, and after the Cardiff game that if we were to continue with the kind of approach we saw in that fixture that they'd both thrive and be key to our productivity.

Lingard and Pogba now seem to be linking as well as we've seen Jesse and Rashford do for months. I think the dynamic between the three of them could become as important as anything else on the pitch for us.

lingard imo is not a player who's form will massively fluctuate, even under mourinho it was mainly the same, always moving/running trying to make room, he's always going to solid enough and the goals he chips in gives that performance a bit more gloss of course

I think you are right. The difference is that everyone else is now moving more too and passing a lot quicker which means he gets the ball more in the spaces he creates and also has people to play with in advanced positions.

Jesse looks clueless when the players around him are static, but the way we're playing now is perfect for him, and makes our football exciting

Lingard's off the ball movement is really good imo. He is not often praised for this aspect of his game, and the focus seems more on his all round fluctuating performances.

He's the type of player that needs to play consistently to gauge a better consistency. He will never be world class, but what he offers is something that helps link up the attack fluidly.

You'd think he'd have been much more productive playing in the Spurs or Liverpool sides of the last 24 months.

Love Jesse.

Find it staggering that we seem to have fans who don't rate him.

A lot of our fans don't rate him because he is massively inconsistent.

Not hard to understand at all if you have watched us over he last four or five years.

He had a purple patch this time last year as well then was crap for the rest of the season.

He needs to fill out his all round game more before I will get carried away.

Excellent article and analysis again, Rosso.

Cohesion and understanding between players is so important. Relates back to the old adage about a champion team beats a team of champions.

Cheers Dave

Couldn't agree more on your last point. Look at Fergie's final title-winning squad for a perfect example.

Please don't ever change, Judge. Your frequent feckups while *attempting* to call others idiots makes me laugh at you a lot. You brighten my day, thank you.

..

He was right though. Nobb is an idiot.
