Alderweireld

Spurs have triggered his one year extension clause, which has in turn activated his £25m release clause. An absolute bargain for a top quality 29yr old centre back.

Surely a January move is on the cards?

We finished second last year. Above you. The worst United side in 25 years won more things than the best Tottenham side in 25. This season was a disaster, as was Moyes. Yet, despite those, you've not achieved anything. Look at Chelsea. They have had finished in worse positions in these past few years than either of us and still have more to show than Tottenham.

I don't think Poch will be at United in the summer.
Also, you have to active the extention 6 months before Alderweireld's contract expires otherwise he'll be able to talk to clubs abroad.

You can actually activated when ever you want but you have to give notice you’re doing so to stop that ( hence poch going public today ).

I’m 50/50 on poch going but think Toby is def going.

In the summer, Tottenham did offer him to us. But there was no response from United. It is well known that United were looking for a CB but Ed didn't approve, as all the defenders that Jose did want were deemed not to be better than what we have. News reports at the end of summer came out that we were not interested in him (either due to fee or not being wanted). The only concrete bid we made was for Godin, who signed a new contract.

This summer may be different as at 25m and 30 years of age, it may not be deemed that expensive nor an issue of not being better than what we have. But that all depends on the new man coming in.

Spurs don't deal with United now. Move on fellas it is for the best. If Poch and Toby go, it will be to a bigger club than United.

Toby doesn't WANT to leave, just wants more money than we are willing to pay. Currently a move to Mancland would be a step down tho' would get paid more.
Other clubs around Europe are surely interested too, Levy & Toby would prefer that to happen.
As for Poch, don't kid yourselves, he may well leave in a few years but it will be to Madrid.

Well, Tottenham offered him to United. They even called twice when they heard nothing back the first time. Even lowered the asking price.

Levy though we'd help finance his coffers and offered Alderweireld to United.

How about you realise you're not even in the same league pullwise nor financially. Levy would have sold Alderweireld if we agreed to his asking price of 50m. That's how Levy operates.

China you are really ITK.

Well, I'm just going by what the papers said. They linked us with Toby all during the summer window and at the end turns out we didn't even make an offer for him. We did, however, make a bid for Godin.

Yeah but the papers don't know sheet either.

True. If we were to go by what they said, Toby would already be a United player.
