Thoughts from today

Very frustrating game.

Must have had at least 4 off the line today, seemed to be ‘one of those’ games.

Fed up of seeing Jansson carrying the ball better than Forshaw.

Klich hasn’t played as well as he can lately.

Out wide we were poor until Clarke come on, again.

Could very much do with signing a good pacey playmaker.

Hernandez passed Klick/Forshaw on countless occasions. I get that he has a ‘free role’ as such, but the other two central players offer next to nothing creatively.

Looking forward to Phillips taking Forshaws place, think he’s bang average.

Top of the league at the end of 2018 though, let’s get out of this league for goodness sake.

The last eight games have been a triumph of team spirit, courage and determination, but I can not remember a game where we controlled the tempo and the direction of the game. It's exhausting being a Leeds fan!
I thought we did everything we could to get back into the game today. Bielsa made good changes and I was pleased with Roberts' and Clarke's contributions.
You have to give credit to Adkins, though. I thought he worked us out early on and they could easily have scored another goal. Prosicki and Bowen gave us plenty to think about, while their defence was excellent.
We really needed Coops today, to allow KP to move into the midfield, and someone to take some of the responsibility off Pablo. I don't like to admit it, but Saiz was also missed today.
It's a poor result, but Hull will do this to a lot of teams this season and I wouldn't be surprised to see them make the play-offs.
We can argue the margins - is Klich off colour? Did Douglas get found out? Is Pablo taking on too much responsibility? But our competitors dropped points today and we are still top of the league. 70% possession will generate goals most of the time. Stay calm and follow Leeds United.

Possession:

60% of the time, it works every time.

We are top of the league and people are whinging about did players that have played the majority of our games? Can't make it up.

Was embarrassing at half time the way that the Hull fans were talking about our support. We are top of the Championship. Stop bickering about player who have done well not being good enough and support them to do even better FFS!

That being said, Klich was dreadful today and clearly needs a rest. Pablo too probably but not much can be done about that. Would start Baker against Forest.

Most of the time....exactly, and win 7 out of 8 and we will go up.

Klich looks knackered to me. He is still trying but the tank is empty. Nowhere near the threat he was early in the season. He's been playing internationals in the breaks as well. We should be resting him and probably Pablo as well as he has been not his normal self the last few games. Regrettably we do not have good enough replacements to bring in, the loan players we have are duffs (Baker, Harrison) or sick notes (Brown) so we are playing the guys into the ground. Very worrying as tired players are more prone to injury. With Saiz gone I dread to think where our creative spark would come from if Pablo gets crocked

Great post tslufc. Recruitment to take the pressure off playing key players into the ground is vital.

Good point on Klich, the last few games he has taken multiple shots without any power in them - an obvious sign of fatigue?

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but has Harrison not started the last three matches? Not like he's been sat on the bench twiddling his thumbs.

Harrison has been substituted at or shortly after halftime each of those games.

When asked about Harrison and Clarke after the Hull game, Bielsa responded that they shared the role really well.

Seems to be planned by Bielsa to protect both players. Especially Clarke. Maybe a good move in the long run.
